9/10 – A peaceful and relaxing stay
We spent 5 wonderful days at Villa Lydia and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, quiet and relaxing holiday at a slower pace.
We arrived late in the evening after a private transfer from Bang Rong Pier, and the villa staff met us at Maonah Pier to collect us. They were incredibly helpful, and when we arrived, the villa was beautifully lit up, which made it feel very special from the moment we arrived.
The villa itself is spacious and very well laid out. We were lucky enough to have all three bedrooms and the whole villa to ourselves, which made the stay feel very private and special. Set in the middle of the jungle with lovely sea views, it really is a beautiful and peaceful place to stay.
The infinity pool was one of our favourite things about the villa. It was so relaxing spending our days around the pool, enjoying the views and the peaceful surroundings. The beach is only about a 5-minute walk away, and there are some lovely restaurants and cafés nearby, so you have everything you need without being surrounded by crowds.
Breakfast is ordered the evening before. The choice isn’t huge, but what we had was tasty and well presented. Our daughter particularly loved the pancakes!
Dua, the villa manager, was extremely helpful throughout our stay. She gave us lots of useful information and also arranged scooter hire for us for a day. We had great fun touring around the island and would definitely recommend doing this if you get the chance.
The only downsides for us were that the towels were very hard and could probably benefit from some fabric softener or being replaced. The bed in the master suite was also very creaky and made quite a lot of noise whenever you turned over during the night, so this could definitely do with some attention.
