Location , style and look of the hotel
Room a bit old fashioned for our taste but good size
Hotel has two lovely outside terraces one outside breakfast room one outside restaurant - we moved from the restaurant one to the other st 10-30am one morning as the restaurant one was in shade - we were just sitting in the sun but then were told by the management we couldn’t sit there as it was closed ( we were only ones there ) and it would encourage others to try and do the same and ask for drinks - we told them that we were just sitting there for ten minutes and had already had a drink in the other one - were firmly told we had to move - petty and unnecessary

The location is great - in the forest with walking and biking paths, the Belvedere mMuseum nearby as well. A great base for exploring Friesland.
The gym is a little cramped and could use some maintenance. The restaurants are good, but suffer from overambitious on relatively simple dishes. Sometimes less is more.

The location in the middle of the forest is amazing.
Cosy breakfast on the front terrace is a good way to start the day.
Nice opportunities for walks and hikes in the area.
The restaurant is busy at weekends, so remember to make reservations if you want to dine in.
There isn’t anything to dislike.
