The excellent dining experience at Villa Skärtofta, the Art exhibition and collection, the great interior with a mix of traditional and contemporary, the sauna and relax, the rooms.

Loved the staff, so helpful, accommodating, and polite. Not only at main desk, but also the waiters. The food was good too.
Wonderful views and surroundings.
The bed was very comfortable.
The pillows smelled dusty. It didn't feel like getting into a fresh clean bed.
I have never had to pay for a baby crib before. It has always been available for free in my trips. Not very child-friendly in general - for instance, no play areas for small kids.

Breakfast was very nice, fresh and the staff were attentive..
We found the whole place very beautiful & serene; the tower & billiards room was like in an old palace; lots of sitting areas in the nature & games. I personally was expecting a room without carpets, the rooms pictured on the internet does not represent the reality. Shower is super. Staff in the restaurant and reception were very friendly and open.

As far I know, the four star hotel room should be provided with minibar fridge, cabinet for clothes, water boiler... etc. Those essential items are missing. In addition to hard matres instead of the provided one.

This is our 5th visit to Sweden. This time, I chose a hotel outside the city, a quiet but charming place, and that's exactly Var Gard. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast abundant, beautiful location and above all, the comfiest bed ever!

The beds were great. The personal very nice. The view magnificent.
Would have loved to have dinner or lunch in the old house. The big room for breakfast is good for breakfast but not really for dinner. The other restaurant was good for lunch but not really top notch for the dinner.
Nothing to visit in April in Saltsjöbaden. No tips at the info desk.

The breakfast was very nice, fresh, good quality. The bakery products were made in the hotel's own bakery and was very fresh, delicious. The surrounding was beautiful, quiet. Newly opened Cocktail bar with very nice, tasty non-common cocktails. Amazing main building with beautifully restored interior

Staff were excellent and the location was beautiful.
Room was a lot smaller than expected and was very hot without air conditioning. Transport to and from Stockholm City Center was not the easiest.

We staid in the beautifull suites (Happy & Lucky) in front of the sea. From the bed we enjoyed the magnificent view on the sea. The breakfast is excellent and the hotel offers many activities (kayak...). It is very well located, close to the sea but also close to Stockholm and even Tyresa national park. We will come back !
price is not cheap, especially during our stay (mid august)

The location was very nice, we loved that its was close to the water and that it was secluded. The staff welcomed us with smiles :)
The selection for food was limited and also the service at the restaurant can be improved :)

The House bakery is excellent. The location is marvellous. Sauna, ferry in 5 minutes to Stockholm. Design of the room and facilities, a fantastic restaurant for dinner.
I was slightly disappointed that there was no porridge on the breakfast menu.
Matrasses are too soft and - extremely disappointing - the double bed is actually two adjusted beds with an uncomfortable split in between.
We were woken up by a cleaning lady who broke into our room at 9 am and didn't speak English. How come that cleaning lady came before breakfast?? We were leaving that day after breakfast and expected not to be disturbed util checkout time.
