Hotel Sant Antoni

Centre of town, great outside pool

We used the hotel as a stopping point en route to Queralbs and found it perfectly comfortable and pleasant. Despite looking out onto the main road, our room was quiet and we enjoyed the proximity of the river and town centre. Our interactions with members of the team were very pleasant, too. They couldn't have been more helpful.

The hotel's own car park is a few hundred yards away. This wasn't a problem for us, but visitors with mobility issues may find it inconvenient.

Superb location, and just exceptional for a two star

Hotel Antoni is simple, basic but clean and nothing more or less than you would expect for this type of hotel. For an overnight stay it’s more than adequate. The bathrooms are modern and very functional. This was our second time here so was clearly worth coming back to. The restaurant looked very popular with locals as much as with guests, always a good sign though we didn’t get around to trying it for ourselves. There is a nice recent looking pool close by, also not used by us, and a lovely cool terrace at the back, overlooking the river, with a waterfall which plunges into a basin in the corner. It was a lovely cool refuge from the heat at the end of a very hot day. The barman was super friendly and helpful and was happy to bring us drinks out to the terrace, which is quite a way from the bar. He was the complete opposite in temperament to the reception staff.

1. Reception. On both our visits (4 years between them) reception has been brisk/curt to say the least with not a hint of welcome or a trace of friendliness. Although a younger lady dealt with us, the same older lady appeared to supervise on both occasions and made no effort at friendless or attempt to correct the briskness of the younger lady. We had a strong feeling of being grudgingly accepted both times. For this reason alone we would not return here again. 2. Our room was fine in all respects, except that it faced south west and had the full sun in the afternoon. It was stiflingly hot so that a siesta was out of the question. We wouldn’t expect aircon in a two star hotel, but a cheap electric fan would’ve been a great help. Needless to say we didn’t fancy our chances at asking for one at reception!!
