Hotel Splendid

This is one of the most romantic hotels I had seen in my life. It is perfect to vostit with your wife. Beach is one of the most beautiful i jave seen on the lake and it is alao very clean. I hope we would come agagin in your hotel soon.

Location was perfect Stunning views and super clean hotel

Needed more hot food for breakfast and free water at least in the room

Fabulous views right on the lake parking at the hotel A 20 minute walk into Thun Staff were exceptional

Not a great problem for us but the hotel does not serve alcohol .

For a supposed luxury hotel (at luxury prices) the service was well below expectation: 1) the front desk staff were less than helpful, acted like they were doing us a favor to answer any questions, 2) hot tub in health spa was 'cold' even after we reserved a time the night before, 3) there was no food or drink service at the beach or pool (dirty glasses and plates were left around the property, 4) The bottom rungs of the ladder leading from the lake onto the dock were slimy and extremely slippery, creating a significant safety hazard, 5) Our internet service was blocked because of a daily data limit, 6) Most concerning was our experience at checkout. We were asked to contribute additional money for staff tips. Although we were told the contribution was optional, my wife felt uncomfortable declining and felt compelled to pay approximately €125. Based on our subsequent research and conversations, we are concerned that this request may have been directed particularly toward American guests. Tipping in Italy is generally discretionary and not an expected practice in the manner presented to us. We found the request inappropriate and uncomfortable, particularly at the conclusion of an already disappointing stay. 7) No response when we reached out to the hotel general manager with our concerns.
