A nice traditional hotel in a great location, a couple of minutes away from the beach by foot and famous caves and within easy walking distance of Matala’s centre, restaurants, and shops.
The rooms are furnished in a rustic, basic style and clean. Solid soap and shampoo are provided daily.
There are several parking options nearby, including covered parking for €5 or free street parking.
The staff were friendly. The owners make their own wine and kindly gifted us a bottle at check-out, which we really appreciated.
The balcony overlooked the parking lot, but it was still nice to have a place to dry our wet beach towels.
The fridge was a bit noisy, so we had to turn it off at night.
Our room was on the ground floor, right next to reception, so it could be a little noisy, with doors sometimes being slammed in the hallway in the morning. There were also a couple of parties at nearby establishments or on the beach during our stay, with loud music playing until late. This was clearly not the hotel’s fault; it is simply part of the lively atmosphere you get to experience when staying in Matala. If you are a light sleeper, you may want to bring earplugs.

la posizione, in pieno centro e vicinissima al mare (pochi minuti a piedi) ed a tutti i servizi, la gentilezza dei gestori, veramente molto disponibili e cortesi.
La pulizia poco approfondita, stanza molto datata, infissi duri, rumori del condizionatore e sensazione che la nostra stanza non fosse utilizzata da tempo.
