- Island is beautiful
- Snorkeling on the house reef is superb!
- Staff are sweet and attentive
- Marine biologists on site - they take care of the reef and educate people.

- I don't quite think the resort lives up to its advertised five-star rating. There is no swimming pool, gym, or pool villas, and some of the finer details you would normally expect from a luxury resort are missing, such as a chair in the room, a table on the terrace, or decorative plants in the outdoor bathroom. None of this was an issue for me, as I don't need any of those things and was perfectly happy with what the resort offered. However, guests expecting a more traditional five-star experience might be a little disappointed.

Our stay at Diamonds Athuruga Maldives Resort & Spa truly lived up to its 5-star reputation — it did not disappoint.
The Junior Suite was absolute perfection. The view from our decking was breathtaking, and having the sea just three steps from our balcony felt like a dream come true.
The food was of outstanding quality, with a fabulous variety each evening that made every meal something to look forward to. A special mention must go to our waiter, Rasheed, who was exceptional throughout our stay. His attention to detail and level of service were truly 5-star. He looked after us at every meal; breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including two celebration gala nights, and he absolutely made our dining experience first-class.
The excursions we attended — reef snorkelling, the dolphin trip, and the whale shark excursion were all run very professionally. We felt safe, well cared for, and still had plenty of fun throughout.
The welcome team were also outstanding. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and they always took the time to check in with us and ensure everything was going well. A special mention to Lea, who was a very professional and friendly presence throughout our stay.
We had an incredible experience and are already looking forward to returning next year!

Property is in really good location.
Food is repetitive and that’s in the overwater villa restaurant. Required more choice.
