I would like to start with the positive aspects of our stay.
There are two very pleasant young men working at the reception. They were always friendly, welcoming, and smiling. I would especially like to mention Vitaly — thank you very much for your attentiveness and for the personal care you showed towards us.
I would also like to thank the housekeeping staff. Although cleaning was not done every day and there was no consistent cleaning schedule, the ladies who cleaned our room did their job well whenever they came.
The view of the sea from the breakfast area on the fourth floor is beautiful and is definitely one of the hotel’s advantages.
Some of the breakfast items were actually good: the juice, yoghurt, fruit when you managed to get some before it ran out, jam, Nutella, croissants and cheese.
One of the hotel’s main advantages is its location. It is quite close to the sea, and the nearest beach is approximately a 7–10 minute walk away.
Unfortunately, there were quite a few things that negatively affected our stay.
We stayed three people in room 306. The room had a separate small room with doors leading to the loggia. Unfortunately, the air conditioner in this separate room was broken. We therefore had to keep the doors open all the time so that the cooled air from the main room could reach it.
Overall, the hotel is very worn and clearly in need of renovation. The doors are old and squeak, and the bathroom — especially the shower cabin — was particularly disappointing, with visible mould. The shower cabin itself is extremely small, approximately 70×70 cm, with an entrance that I would estimate to be only around 30 cm wide. I understand that this is a three-star hotel, but I honestly cannot understand who these microscopic shower cabins were originally designed for.
The soundproofing is practically nonexistent. The bathroom of the neighbouring room shares a wall with the bedroom of our room. At night, we could hear our neighbours opening and closing the bathroom door, going to the toilet, and flushing the toilet so clearly and loudly that it genuinely felt as though they were using the bathroom right next to our bed.
The Wi-Fi did not work in our room either, apparently because the signal does not reach the third floor.
There was also an awful smell throughout the entire third floor during our stay. What was particularly unpleasant was that construction work was being carried out in the neighbouring rooms without any prior warning to us. The workers started using a power drill as early as 7–8 a.m. They also went outside to smoke through the emergency exit, directly onto the fire escape next to our window. As a result, we had to deal with cigarette smoke, construction dust and noise. It was extremely unpleasant and, at times, difficult even to breathe normally.
Unfortunately, the hotel was also quite dirty overall. This is especially disappointing considering how beautiful the city itself is.
