It was clean, centrally located, and nice staff
We weren’t able to connect to the tv on the few times we were in the room, no heat or cooling. They did give us thick warm blankets and there are windows to open for air!

Excellent location and wonderful hospitality in Ollantaytambo
El Chasqui was an excellent choice for our stay in Ollantaytambo, particularly because of its unbeatable location. It is just outside the entrance to the archaeological site and only around an 8-minute walk from the train station, making it incredibly convenient for visiting the ruins and continuing our journey to Machu Picchu.
The staff were also extremely helpful and welcoming. A special mention must go to David, who was particularly attentive throughout our stay. He communicated exceptionally well, was always aware of what we needed and went out of his way to ensure our comfort.
The hotel also kindly helped us with storing our main luggage while we travelled to Machu Picchu, which made our journey much easier.
For us, El Chasqui was not about luxury — it was about location, convenience, comfort and genuinely caring service, and it delivered all four very well.
A very good choice for anyone visiting Ollantaytambo and travelling onwards to Machu Picchu.
☕ No tea, coffee or coca tea provided, which we particularly noticed because every other hotel so far had offered coca tea and we found it very helpful at altitude.
* 🍳 Breakfast was extremely basic — essentially just one egg, a banana and an orange, with very little choice. 😆
* For travellers doing active sightseeing, the breakfast could have been more substantial and varied.

Nice place, very pretty. If you book room without the bathroom, be ready the quality of your stay won't be as good. The shared bathroom is pretty crap, borderline hazardous.
