We stayed at The Deluxe Hostels & Suites in Merida for 3 nights, mainly because the original hotel (with pool) we wanted was sold out.
Our first choice hotel was a 4* but you know what?
Basic as the Deluxe Hostels & Suites were, they were perfect.
They were clean, functional and centrally located and the pool was a bonus in the summer heat of Merida.

The location is convenient — close to the city center and within walking distance of the railway station. The room was an adequate size for one person, clean, and recently renovated.
The air conditioner worked well for heating, which was especially useful during the colder season. The staff were very friendly.
Breakfast was rather limited — a few types of toast, coffee, and juice. It is sufficient for a short stay, but the selection is minimal.
The room had a shower cabin with several hydromassage functions. However, it looked somewhat outdated and was not perfectly clean.

Great location
Bathroom and shower were a little tired. Bed was not very comfortable.

Staff was great, kind, helpful.
Overall the place is in good conditions.
Not in the center but a short walk 15mins.
The pool not working in days with an average of 30ºC is a waste, but they do explain in the reservation that the pool is seasonal.
