Tucked away in a quiet street just a short walk to the old town is Brunfels Hotel. The room was spacious. The ladies at reception are very friendly and helpful.
A bit disappointed with breakfast. You could order a hot cooked breakfast, but it was on a bread plate. Clearly this is meant to be supplement to the continental items available.

Everything "just worked" and I don't mean functionality ... the experience was well conceived and well executed.
The only "nit" is that the bathroom shower glass had a support device that was not well secured.

Property seems to be in the middle of projects but close to Schiller Platz and 10 minutes to cathedral
The hotel restaurant overpriced for poorly prepared, low quality items. Dinner for two sharing appetizers - oysters were mealy, not fresh; fried chicken balls barely edible; sautéed carrots raw; tomato tart bite sized. Wine is offered as a short pour or standard pour don’t know price difference. Then after an awful meal the restaurant waiter insisted on a tip ( which they only ask of tourists) when we said that like other EU countries you don’t tip. He argued that we tip in USA and he is poorly paid.
