Cute boutique hotel, loved the room and bathroom decoration. The standing tub added a touch of fun. Great evening meal right on the property.

The Cantilever is a little gem in Ranier. It's a cool hotel wrapped around a restaurant/distillery, with rooms tucked into hallways and onto floors. The rooms are spacious and clean, and furnished in modern style. There's plenty of on-site free parking, the staff is friendly and helpful, and it's just 20 minutes from International Falls and the Canada border, and 20 minutes from the Rainy Lake visitors center of Voyageurs National Park.
The hotel is situated next to a pretty busy train line, and while the trains do not honk at the intersection, you can get stuck waiting for trains and you can hear them driving by.

I really enjoyed the yoga studio. Also the food was excellent and I like the Gin - bought a bottle!

This is my 3rd time staying at the beautiful Cantilever Hotel in Ranier, MN. I LOVE that this beautiful hotel, bar, restaurant, and experience is so close to the town I grew up in. The staff is excellent. The food was wonderful (and the one time that something was slightly less than wonderful, they fixed it right away). I love the vibe and the neighborhood - Feels like home.
2/3 times I have stayed at Cantilever, the toilet paper holder in the bathroom has been broken. Its nothing that was going to ruin my stay, but for the price, the toilet paper holder should be functioning.
