Great location to stay in Salema.

The location to the beach is amazing!

Cleanness of the floors are something us wasn’t 100% sure about, could just be the old tiles. Otherwise no complaints.

Don’t stay here

There wasn’t anything we liked about this place.

The owner had an issue with our luggage transfer service and made us feel as though we were responsible for the perceived issue they had. They banned the service and told us we had to be out by 10 am and take our bags with us leaving us to scramble for another pick up location. The accommodation was dirty, one toilet did not work, the kitchen smelled like sewer gas and the bedroom was directly across from a karaoke bar that went well into the early hours. The chairs on the terrace are falling apart and not safe to sit on. Bad sleep, and my partner who has an injured back had to carry his pack up a steep hill to another location for pick up. Our transfer service was equally perplexed by the behaviour of the owner and did everything they could to accommodate us in this situation.

I had a shower and left because it was so cold inside the apartment.

Nothing.

This was easily the worst accomodation that I have ever booked. So bad, that we didn't stay. Firstly the entrance door is around the corner and not actually on the street. We were sent a photo of the side door, that is not on the street. It would be nice to know this minor detail. The floor upon entering appeared dirty and not maintained. The worst thing is there is no heating. I asked the owner about this, but I didn't receive an answer. The appartment was freezing cold, colder inside than outside and it was December. It would have been a very uncomfortable night, so we decided to leave, but didn't request a refund. We found much better accomodation at NAU Salema Beach Village for only €1.00 more. It included TV, internet and heating. This is the most over priced property I have ever seen, keep away! PS. In response to the owner's reply, nowhere in the property description does it say that there is no heating. Also, I am not the only one to complain about that. This would not be problem in winter. During our three week holiday in Portugal, we stayed a few of these traditional houses and all the other owners provided some type of heating. You are correct, now I must also check to see if a property has heating. I was also not told there are two entrances.
