About this house rental
Situated in Santa Ynez, this lovely house for $1,221 per night is a great option for your next vacation. A newly restored Dutch farmhouse, located on 5 gorgeous acres in Santa Ynez. You will soon see that Goodgame Ranch is a property right out of the movies! Close to town, this home features lush park-like grounds with a pool, spa, and a beautiful rustic barn and corral. This comfortably charming home is excellent for entertaining, inside and out, with unlimited attention to detail and plenty of amenities. There are three private rooms upstairs, two rooms with king beds and one room with two twin beds. The master bedroom features a flat screen television and full bath with shower and tub. Downstairs, guests can sleep on a sleeper sofa bed with full bath en suite. This is not a private room but the perfect arrangement for extra guests. ***Pool is not heated, inquire with host about heating the pool*** ***Prior to the recent Santa Barbara County ordinance restricting short term rentals (30 days or less), this home has always been rented as a 5 bedroom property, with sleeper sofa in common area, accommodating up to 12 adults. Current code only allows 6 adults ( in 3 bedrooms)—additional children are allowed, up to maximum of 10. We abide by this ordinance. Rentals of 30 days or more allow up to 10 adults. We want to accurately disclose that this home is larger than a 3 bedroom home, for those seeking 31 days or more rentals. ***POOL IS NOT HEATED, INQUIRE WITH HOST ABOUT HEATING THE POOL***

This was the second time we stayed at the property. The first time was 10 years ago. The only reason we did not go back was the family grew and when it was just the main house it was no longer large enough. When I saw they added the guest house it was now the right size for the family so we were excited to return for Thanksgiving! The yard is large for family activities and the jacuzzi was the perfect temperature for evening relaxation.
If I could give the property manager, Pam, 10 stars I would!! Great communication, quick responses just an al around great experience with Pam!
Looking forward to our next stay at this wonderful property!!

Great vintage property with tons of charm. Even the cows were friendly. The cat kept trying to sneak inside but we managed it well. Nice cat too! BTW, we fed him!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay. Was large enough to fit all our family members but feel like we had our space. The Backyard is to die for an absolutely was the highlight of our stay. Pam was extremely helpful, polite and accommodating. Will be staying there again if we are ever in the area.

We loved this farmhouse. Host has very specific expectations but they are well communicated so they are easy to follow. We loved the yard, the cozy and comfy interiors, and the beautiful kitchen.

We rented the house for Christmas weekend. We experienced dinner in Solvang on Friday, wine tasting on Saturday and a lovely Christmas day at home on Sunday. This was a perfect place to enjoy the wonderful variety it offers.

We have shared an annual family gathering at Goodgame for many, many years and it feels more like "home" every year. The home is absolutely lovely with unique charm and more upgrades every year. The yard is inviting by day, and by night. The amenities are top-grade in every way. And Pat, the property manager, is extremely accommodating. There are numerous reasons we rent Goodgame Ranch year after year!

Great location, great home away from home!
This property has it all - comfortable and large rooms for larger groups, a separate house for more friends and families to stay, and a large heated hot tub to entertain and stargaze. This home was perfect for our friends to come together and enjoy some laughs, enjoy a beautiful location!

Annual Family Thanksgiving
We have rented this property for many years to accommodate our annual family thanksgiving celebration. The property is pristine and the home is more lovely every year. The owners have thought of everything to make you feel right at home. And the property manager is a dream to work with! I cannot more highly recommend a memorable get-away to Goodgame Ranch.

Great spot
The rental process was great. Pam was very helpful. The house was comfortable and the perfect size for our group. My only negative is that bathrooms needed repairs/updating/ cleaning. Especially the showers/tubs. So much so that on the last day most of us chose to wait til We got back home to shower. Great location. Kids loved feeding the cows. Pool was lovely but costly to heat.

The Goodgame Ranch Definitely deals a Good Game!
My family thoroughly enjoyed and loved our time at the Goodgame Ranch! Online posted pictures are true to life, the house is amazing and has an abundance of history, character and eclectic design. The kitchen is absolutely AMAZING, fully equipped with everything needed to entertain, easily accommodated a gathering of 20 people with plenty of room to mingle! It's beautiful picturesque outdoors and landscape provides peace and tranquility...the perfect setting to unplug from city life. Lastly, when in town, the El Rancho Market is a MUST. You'll find everything you need at reasonable prices, and a five-star Deli!

Family Reunion
The layout of the house was perfect for our family reunion. One family with four young children (1 1/2 to 8) stayed in the cottage, the other 4 adults stayed in the main house. A large green grassy area in the back of the house was perfect for the kids and adults to play soccer, volleyball, frisbee and just run around. The pool was a perfect temperature and clean, The kids enjoyed going over to see the cows. We were very close to Solvang, Ballard, and Los Olivos. Several adults enjoyed long bike rides especially along Foxen Canyon Rd Great memories were made by all.

Great visit, our kids loved having the outdoor space and the property is very well maintained and clean, the house worked well for our family and the location great and central to the several towns nearby. Very responsive management.

Great birthday weekend!
This unique property was the perfect choice for a group of 8 adults celebrating a birthday. There was ample space, a well furnished kitchen and the grounds were beyond expectations.
I also enjoyed the communication with the hosts who were rapidly responsive and accommodating. We will be back!

Annual Family Thanksgiving. Amazing, as always.
We have rented this property for a number of years for our annual family Thanksgiving weekend. It is our favorite time of year, and favorite place to spend it. The property and the home are beautifully maintained and filled with care and love - and is refurbished and spruced up regularly. We won't hesitate to book it again.

Relaxing Cattle Ranch
The property is a beautiful change from our suburban lives. The main house is beautifully decorated with lots of antiques and paintings to admire. The kitchen has a commercial stove that a chef dreams of. The house is fully equipped with the necessary items needed including aromatherapy shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand soap. This was a pleasant surprise. The barn was an amazing backdrop for pictures. And observing and feeding the cattle was such a joy.
There were only 3 issues we encountered with the property:
There were a few spiders and webs throughout the house. Daddy long legs which are harmless, but still a little but of a nuisance. The webs and spiders were also on the patio furniture and patio cover, which could have been cleaner. We had to take some time to clean it ourselves to relax.
The pull out couch sheets were either dirty or stained. This prompted me to check all the Linens and sheets on the other beds. They were all very clean, so there were no other issues regarding cleanliness.
Lastly, both The main house kitchen and the guesthouse kitchenette had ants after our first night. They stayed with us for the duration of our trip.
Overall we had a very relaxing and memorable stay at Goodgame Ranch. Pam was very communicative and responded promptly any time we needed her. If the ant problem is corrected, I would love to stay here again.

Amazing Weekend Celebration
Spent New Year's at Goodgame Ranch with a group of friends and the property was incredible! Check in and communication was perfect and the house was spot on for our group -- if you are looking for a fun place to stay up in SY Valley look no further! Close to town, wineries, and great food this place has it all. Would 100% recommend to all.
