This is just a great place if you want to stay in Sao Miguel on a budget. Amazing central location in Ponta Delgada and lovely little hostel with nice common areas, big kitchen free to use, and a good breakfast. The rooms are spacious, with large enough lockers, and the beds are comfortable and have everything you need as a traveller (curtains, sockets, even a little shelf). There's no free parking on the street but there are several free parking lots at a comfortable walking distance. And Mr Martins is such a good host!
The laundry room gets locked in the evening so just be aware of that if you're planning to put a wash on.
The bathrooms ended up being dirty often, but nothing crazy- if they were cleaned more often during the day I would have given a 10!

Good location
Unfortunately the staff member was not able to speak English which made communication difficult.
The room was directly located at the roads which is quite noisy (esp at the weekends).
