I liked the location and the spacious rooms.
There was a hole in the middle of the bathroom floor. We had to be very careful around it. Children could have easily hurt their feet. The bathroom also had a bad drain odour. I guess it is a common problem in that area of the city. Also there is an expectation of leaving the flat clean and taking the rubbish out! We did not mind it, but still it's a bit weird to ask a paying customer. The "view at Liberty statue" is a joke, please make sure you don't fall out of the window while looking for it. TV was on display, however no plug to plug it in anywhere near.

Good location and affordable price.
Almost everything else.
Imagine arriving at an apartment in October that apparently hasn’t been heated since last spring. The instructions say turning on the heating is a one-minute job. In reality, it’s a whole escape room challenge.
All the heaters are gas-powered, switched off, and the gas supply is shut off. We contact the host, who simply sends us the same instructions again and then disappears for the entire night, leaving us without any meaningful assistance.
Unfortunately, we don’t have to imagine what happens next.
We managed to turn on one heater, but the room immediately filled with a strong, acrid burning smell, and the heater shut off the gas supply twice with a loud bang. At that point, we had to choose between freezing and risking our safety. We chose freezing.
Luckily, we found an old electric heater. Its presence was a relief, although one small heater was nowhere near enough to warm such a large apartment. We ended up sleeping in the same room to keep warm, piling together all the blankets we could find. Running an electric heater throughout the night didn’t feel like a safe solution either.
The next evening, hoping at least to enjoy a warm meal and a cup of tea before bed, we discovered the next level of the apartment quiz: the gas stove didn’t work either. Thankfully, there was a microwave.
We then decided to wash the dishes, since the host was so keen on guests doing so before departure. No problem — except that turning on the kitchen hot water tripped the electricity throughout the apartment. So there we were, washing dishes in freezing water, in a freezing apartment, in the dark.
Throughout all of this, despite contacting the host about the heating and the stove, we received absolutely no meaningful assistance.
A small note on cleanliness: we were lucky that the bedding and towels appeared clean and smelled freshly washed. However, the bedding was very old, which made it feel less than inviting.
