Super leuke ervaring!

When visiting Sri Lanka you must stay here and take up their safari option. Amazing surroundings, brilliant tents with everything you need and very clean. The breakfast and dinner were brilliant and you dine in the open air restaurant, under the stars for your evening meal. The safari comes with a brilliant guide and we saw so much including a leopard, bear, crocodile, buffaloes and plenty of birds. You can arrange an additional walk with your guide in the morning for no additional charge to wonder into the village where you will see lots of nature. All the staff are so friendly and cannot do enough for you. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here.

Very nice place in the middle of nature ..tents are basic but comfortable and equipped with everything you need ..you really feel the safari vibe !!
It’s close to the park so very nice to stay there if you do a safari
Very recommended !!

Dinner seemed very nice outside with the fire but we thought it was very expensive for Sri Lanka so we did not do it

The best place ever! The staff was exemplary - so kind and you could really tell they love that they do. The tents are literally like a house and have everything you could ever need. The food was delightful and most importantly the atmosphere at this place was absolutely magical! Although it can be tricky to get to this place, it makes it very private and you really feel at one with nature! We went on a morning safari and saw 2 Sri Lankan leopards, lots of monkeys, beautiful birds, peacocks, crocodiles and deer. Great staff, amazing food, loveliest tour guide - honestly can’t recommend this place enough!

The glasswater bottles with free drinking water
Tents are old and worn, they had holes in them so we hade insects and musquitos.
Terrain looked bad and worn out, not a nice place for a walk.
Our tent stood fully in the sun the entire day so it was extra hot in the evening and in the morning when you woke up..
Breakfast and dinner way too expensive and the worst we had our entire holiday. But you don't really have a choice because there is no restaurant nearby.
Safaris offered also way more expensive then booking it yourself
Bathroom part of the tent was dirty, toilet was loose and you could sit on the toilet normally because of the to small space.
Strongly recommend to pick another place, safari tours will pick you up from better locations.

The staff was very friendly and prepared a great welcome with tea and cookies. The evening walk and morning safari were great and we had a lovely bbq dinner! Both Nisal and our driver helped us to spot animals we would never have noticed without them and Nisal gave a very good explanation about everything.

As we went at a quiet time, we were upgraded to a larger tent as we arrived - which was a lovely treat! The camp was lovely and peaceful, tents were spread out for privacy. We had a great lunch and dinner and we even saw wild elephants running past as we ate, it was amazing. Our guide for the safari was informative and knowledgeable, and we also did an evening walk around the camp and an afternoon walk around the local area, seeing lots of birds, bugs and small mammals.
Nothing!

Everything. From the Safari to the night walk, everything was fabulous and a perfect way to end our Sri Lanka adventure before heading back to Negombo.
Dinner under the stars was a very special experience and we also got a tent upgrade which we really appreciated :)
Our naturalist was very knowledgeable and we learnt so much during the night walk.
Safe did not work.

The entire experience was just amazing! Food was delicious and the dinner under the stars just magical. I believe we got upgraded to a bigger and more fancy tent than we actually booked and it was spacious, clean and comfortable. The evening walk was awesome we got to see all kinds of creatures and learned a lot. Wilpattu park is beautiful but unfortunately we weren’t lucky enough to see the big animals so in case you really want to be sure, book more than one safari.
There are no signs towards the camp so be sure to mark down the location in the offline map as there is not a proper internet network.

The safari was exceptional and the park and the tent area were beautiful. The atmosphere in the campsite at night was enchanting. Staff were very helpful and polite throughout our stay.
The shower in the tent was super super hot, like kettle hot, and the dinner meal was ok. Felt a bit much having to pay for a beer on top of the pretty hefty nightly fee.

Our favorite part of this trip by far was our naturalist, Sumith. What a lovely man - he knew so much about the natural world around us and was able to answer any questions we had. He also was just such a sweet and conscientious person and would do anything to make our family feel at home and comfortable. The rooms were also very well designed.
It's definitely expensive. Also, while we all had a great time, I am not sure that the experience is built for kids. I would say that if they want to market the experience for kids some slight shifts could make it more kid friendly (maybe have the romantic/candlelit meal time at a different time for kids, have some scavenger hunt or spot the animal games on the 4 hour long safari, etc.).

We enjoyed everything, firstly getting a free upgrade as the camp wasn’t so busy. To the Nature Walks & Safari, Our guide & Driver was so knowledgeable and we had the most amazing encounter with ‘ Wilpattus Big Boy ‘ Leapord !
We were full board, food was great & so much of it!!

Nice Safari with a very good driver.
The outside dinner with the bonfire was nice.
Very small tents and extremely small washroom. They need patched and restored.

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Sri Lanka. The food was excellent, the campsite beautiful, service was top notch. The night and morning walks with naturalist Sumith were special - he is incredibly knowledgeable. The safari was great too, we just wished we had a guide like Sumith with us. Highly recommended!

Staff were excellent- Subith and team looked after us from start to finish. We had amazing meals, including a candlelit dinner by the lake, and the safari itself was very educational. Both Subith and the driver spotted everything from big game to different species of birds. We even saw so much on the morning nature walk and the night walk. Lastly, the accommodation was excellent- we were actually upgraded as it was quiet. Would certainly recommend.
Nothing, it was great.

We were upgraded to the other camp and the tent was so beautiful!
They arranged a very nice safari tour for us( not cheap but average prices), packed lunch and breakfast were really good and the staff was very friendly and helpful. It's a good location for a safari at Wilpattu!
It was raining a lot when we were there so everything was a bit damp and we were a bit cold but that was specific to our stay! Maybe just a duvet option would be good. But as the sounds from all the animals around the tent, it's the charm of camping! It's a bit in the middle of nowhere so I would recommend taking the half board option.

Location was good and the staff greeting on arrival was great. Tent concept and floor out looked nice.
The whole location was very wet due to rain so the tent and fit out was very damp. The third bed for an adult was child size. The night walk was not provided - when asked told it was before dinner not after like sign or booking info. On return from early morning safari, limited time was allowed to pack and dry out before being hurried on. Packed vehicle from tent in rain - unlike welcome assistance given with luggage. I get the rain and booking turnovers but can’t say it was good value given high cost or even very special. Overall, quite disappointing.

We loved the free upgrade that we received upon arrival, to the most luxurious tents we have ever seen! When we arrived around lunch time the staff very kindly prepared us sandwiches and fries, that were hand delivered to our tent. The staff were very friendly and organised us an amazing half day safari, followed by a delicious, candle lit, 3 course barbecue. Upon checking out they helped us to arrange our transport to our next destination and even packed us some sandwiches and water for the journey.
It could have been much better sign posted from the main road, as there were literally no signs which made getting there quite a challenge.

The tents are awesome, comfortable and nice. The staff was very helpful and the restaurant outdoors look like if we were in Out of Africa. The safari is also worth it.

Well, we have been upgraded to the Mahoora cap - so our stay was wonderful. We were greeted with some refreshments and snacks before being led to the tent through a path lit by fire torch. A bit of “Survival” atmosphere in a good way. The tent was spacious and very comfortable. Some standard hotels offer less comfort. The dinner they served was also very good - especially loved the pumpkin soup. The fireplace created a special
atmosphere, and while unfortunately it started unexpectedly to rain the staff reacted quickly and brought all the guests to a covered tend to finish the dinner. Next morning we took also the safari and were lucky to spot in a very far distance a leopard with her cub. The breakfast served during the safari was great too, and the gym was very comfortable while the naturalist who accompanied us provided some useful tips about the Wilpattu park and its inhabitants.
While the tent provides great protection from the mosquitoes, any minute being outside without a spray you’ll be eaten up, so be sure to pack plenty of repellent. It is not the hotels issue per se, but the monkeys trying to catch a bite of the breakfast during the safari are getting a bit out of hand. Ideally we would have had a shorter breakfast stop and spent more time trying to spot the animals at the park.

Hard working staff, warm welcome, comfortably appointed tents, knowledgeable guides, so many beautiful birds around the camp. Sunset and night walks were additional free activities which we really enjoyed.
Our driver and I found it difficult to find, better signage from the road would be helpful.

Luxurious and clean tents. We got upgraded to a larger tent, which had a sofa. The staff was super friendly and thoughtful. The accommodation is located in a beautiful park. We did a hike and a night walk from the camp site.
Jeep safari tour is not included and is another $140 per person. We started our safari with a broken jeep so we had to wait on a replacement. When we returned we were also the first ones to be back. Not what you expect for that price.
The vegetarian food was an omelette with rice and some vegetables for dinner. We had better food at roadside restaurants for $1.
Animals made holes in the tent so we had a nightly visitor (mouse or rat).
Overall just really bad value for money. The park and its animals are beautiful and the tents are luxurious and clean but the total of almost $250 for a night in a tent and a half day safari is too much, especially when the service is not top notch.

It was a really unique stay. we were the only guests staying but we’re made to feel like royalty - Sumeih was incredibly kind, thorough and excellent throughout our stay! We had an amazing safari organised by Big Game and the highlight was having dinner under the stars - one of our favourite memories ever!
it was awesome - I would flag if people are scared of bugs/geckos etc this isn’t the place to stay because you are in the middle of nature but for us it was an immersive experience and made for an incredible nightN

We had a great half day safari, spotting both a leopard and a sloth bear. The guides were very knowledgeable and worked hard to find the animals. The tents are very comfortable with everything you’d expect in a hotel room. The staff could not be more attentive and go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Would highly recommend a safari here, we loved it.

Beautiful location.. The dinner near the campfire was good. The afternoon safari tour was really good. Not busy. We saw a lot of animals. Sloth bear, jaguar, birds etc.
