About this house rental

Nestled in San Antonio, this attractive house for $253 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. This is a perfect country get away only 16 miles from downtown San Antonio. On 30 acres with a half mile of medina river frontage. Bring your horses! Great for that family reunion or Church Retreat. You will likely see all kinds of wildlife here. This is the country not the Hilton. Mostly bunk bed accommodations but we can set up beds in the main house for special occasions like weddings. Bring up to 50 friends with you for some R and R away from the city hustle but be close enough to San Antonio for dinner on the Riverwalk! We have three houses on the property available based upon the number of guests you are bringing. The number of guests will determine how many houses will be available and you can choose between the three if all three are not needed. We are very flexible and can modify rates depending on length of stay, overnight and non overnight guest, Rv usage and more. There is also 600 square foot meeting space available and deck overlooking the river for special moments. Great place for church retreats! Supervised children welcome. OPEN RIVER ACCESS, children should not be left unsupervised. The main house would be very comfortable for a family vacation and can be set up with a master bedroom and second bedroom with bunk beds for the kiddos. Country, but comfortable. I have explained the bed layout as best possible. Contact us for exact layout in each house. Gated access. Fishing, kayaking (bring own kayak and poles), nature observing. Supervised children welcome. OPEN RIVER ACCESS, children should not be left unsupervised. We have a gated yard for dogs. We don’t recommend letting any pets run the land unsupervised because there are coyotes. Horses welcome but 30 acres are not fenced. We do have three fenced areas with four foot high tension fences on two of them. Customers are responsible for their own animals and deciding if fencing is appropriate. We are in a 100 year flood plain. Last flood to the structures was in 2002. If a flood were to occur, a refund would be given for any days that the house becomes unavailable. The Property is filled with 200 -300 year old oak trees. Oak trees of this age have been known to drop massive limbs without notice. We do not recommend hanging out under these massive trees. We are on a well. We provide bottled water for drinking. The base rental price is for the first 10 guests in each house and $25 for each additional person per night in each house. There is a charge related to guests who do not stay overnight (for example if you have only 10 overnight guests but are having a 100 person wedding on site). We have the availability for rv parking and electrical service but no water or sewer service. There is a charge for rv parking. If you have need of more than one house (have many guests or just want more space), have guests that will not be staying the night, or are bringing rvs, then we will send a “special offer” offer to account for these issues.

My husband and I booked this for our river trip this summer and it did not disappoint. We had about 24 people with us and the property was perfect for what we were looking for - affordable, spacious, and within an hour from the Guadeloupe. It was great to be so close to the city as well. It felt like we went back to summer camp with our friends and we loved it. Ronald was a great host, very communicative, and very helpful. Absolutely book this place if you have a large group!

The host was helpful and responded back very quickly to any questions I had . The property was a disappointment. Yard or acres was unkempt, junk was on property like broke down truck . Pictures looked better than what it is , blinds in house broke and saging, no blinds or curtains on windows in kitchen. This property would be perfect for a hunting log for a group of guys not a large family vaction are ages were from 75 down to 4 . Could not let kids play outside cause of junk around property and all the stickers . We took are dog who is 7 months old after every walk we spent 30 minutes to an hour picking stickers out of her and she is a short hair dog .we made the best of it and had a good time with family but I would not rent it again .

The property was perfect for what we needed, very relaxing and peaceful! There was plenty of space for the kids to run and play and lots of space for games and enjoying our time together. The property owner/manager was very quick to respond to questions. We did not have any issues for our weekend and that is a huge plus!! Beautiful scenery and the kids had a blast catching lightning bugs in the evening!!

Ron was very nice and prompt in his texts while we were there. He's a lovely Christian man.The facility was very safe with multiple layers of protection, although you had to drive a bit off the main road, behind some other houses, to get there. It felt isolated and alone, and the kids/staff were scared at first (we arrived at night). Elements of the post were truthful, which is why I didn't give a one or a two, which is how the facility felt to us. The words "rustic" and "retreat' are correct - but only in a way. It's technically correct, but I think VRBO vacationers are still expecting a certain element of comfort and basic rental standards that were missing. So we were very disappointed - a lot of overgrown fields and grass around the houses, boxes/machinery/open sheds make it feel unkempt outside, the river area seemed hazardous, although the dock and the back trees were very beautiful and popular. The linens were very tough feeling and the beds very uncomfortable. We were isolated from the main road with the overgrown lot feel in some places. The kitchen was very well stocked, the security was nicely digital and we were safe, the water temperature was great. I gave it a higher review than I felt, because the pictures DO show curtains on the toilets, but the toilet/shower situation felt very awkward, especially since there were no locks on the doors, and the curtains did not feel secure enough to give you privacy when you were going to the bathroom. It DOES show pictures of bunk beds, and the linens were nicely prepared for us (they were tough and scratchy). Some of the set up is a bit awkward. And the pictures show pieces of the set up, but all together, it does not quite work. A detailed drawing of the layout is needed (walking through bunk bedrooms to get to the kitchen was kind of strange). For example, we stayed at the river house and retreat house. The river house was nicer, but in both houses, there was only one small couch (there was 23 of us). Where the couch was, there was no TV. The retreat house had plenty of seating, and the tables and chairs were great for meetings, and there was a TV, but there was no place to get comfortable and play games or watch TV. All in all, we became used to it, and we all enjoyed the togetherness. The kids loved going back and forth from the houses. I feel the facility has a lot of great potential, and I know the price is very good, but I would advertise more as a mission trip/camping facility.
