They’re super nice and explain everything so nicely and in detail. I had a delay that made me arrived too late for the check-in and thought I might struggle, but they help me a lot and were so welcoming :). Breakfast time starts pretty early and since a
I was leaving by 7am it fitted perfectly, there’s some jams available including one handmade (that was so good!)

Dinner parties were fun, the food was delicious. The staff are very nice and welcoming. They speak both english and Japanese well. The rooms are cooled so they have a nice temperature. Good experience overall.
Only one restroom, but it wasn’t much of a problem.

First and foremost, i had an amazing time staying in umebachi. The staff, the owner and his family were super kind, nice, attentive and fun to have conversations with. each time i knew i could arrive at time for dinner i booked a reservation to eat with them, and more than the fact that the food was great and versatile each time, the dinner was fun and the conversations together gave away such a feeling like home. Also, the homemade plum wine the owner makes was so good i took it each night of my stay (specifically the 5 year original one). The property was clean, there was a nice share space and i had a fun time meeting other guests, the coffee in the morning was good too. The location is 9 minute walk from the nearby station and there’s a 7 minute walk nearby lawson. I went with other guests and the owner to the aoba matsuri festival and had such a fun time. If i come back to sendai in the near future, know that i will come back to this place.

The staff was super friendly and very active in trying to make the residents feel welcome (I even discovered that I shared taste in music with some of them). I was quite tired in the evenings, so unfortunately I didn't participate in the dinners/gatherings hosted by the hostel, but from what I could hear, it seemed fun :-) A light breakfast is also provided in the morning, which I think is quite generous and nice if you e.g. need to catch a train and won't have time to go somewhere.
