We spent 5 nights in this lovely apartment. Good size bedrooms, lots of amenities and fabulous introduction and walk through of the apartment when we arrived. Good restaurants and shops close by, but still close to the other side of the river and attractions. Would recommend.

Our Southern California Family of 5 (kids ages 17-22) just spent 3 weeks in Europe staying in 4 different VRBOs and THIS was our most favorite of all of them. We ALL had room to spread out, having our own spacious bedrooms rooms as well as a great living, dining and kitchen. One bathroom had 3 sinks so each kid had their own space there too! I appreciated having a washer and dryer as well as a drying rack which we used daily.
Its on a quieter street but a short walk or bus to main touristy area. We spent our days in the touristy areas and our evenings near the apartment eating in more local quieter restaurants for dinner. This location really gave us the feeling like we were with the locals of Florence and we loved that!
Andreas house “Book” was so well organized and so helpful. Check in was great, being greeted by a host who showed us around the apartment and helped answer any and all questions.
Andrea also got us in contact with a local tour guide, Caterina (Catherine) Wallerman who was the BEST guide we had during our entire trip to Europe. Her knowledge of Florence, Art, History, Italy is unmatched. She made this part of our trip unforgettable.
Fyi we were there from Dec 22-27. It was cold but the apartment did have ample heating.

This property had everything we needed for a stay in Florence. Six of us used the property and the beds were very comfortable. Food and groceries were readily available just down the street. The neighborhood has busy traffic, but we felt safe.Great air conditioning. We didn't cook, but we sure used the washing machine and dryer.
I give the location a 4 because it is a good walk from this property to the center of Florence. We were logging about 5 miles a day, much of it on cobblestone streets. About 1.3 miles to the city center, and taxis and public transportation are inadequate. The stairway up to the apartment is two flights to the third floor. My wife and I are in our early 70s and in good shape, so all this was manageable. I would very much recommend this property, as long as you are up for a good walk every day. By the way, the taxi service from the airport was good, but calling for a taxi back to the airport was nerve wracking.

Very nice apartment in a quiet neighborhood, away from the congested tourist area, but within walking distance.
Host was great.

We were a group of 7, five adults and two older teenagers! The room set up was perfect for this! There was plenty of kitchen and living room space as well! It checked all the boxes! Andrea has been there to answer questions and when he was out of town his property manager Sibilla was amazing! Andrea has done a wonderful job leaving his guests detailed instructions and videos on how to use each and every appliance in the home which made it easy for us to enjoy all the amenities there were! We recommend Andrea and his beautiful place to everyone!

The Porta San Frediano apt had a fantastic location! Easy to find, a coffee shop right downstairs, great restaurants close by even a bus stop and a children’s playground near us! Andrea was very responsive, as was Sabila, the property manager. It was a great place for a family vacation. Andrea was super helpful as we were arranging the trip details. And there are QR codes to show you how to use everything. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a fantastic stay. Great location, quiet neighborhood but within walking distance to everywhere we needed to go. Loved the binder with super clear explanation of everything we needed to know.

We had a fantastic stay in the apartment - ideally located as it was far enough away from the busy centre but close to all the sights. The apartment had all the necessary amenities, plenty of advice & instructions. Property manager was very efficient & helpful if required. Overall, a great holiday with loads to do, great food, friendly people and fantastic weather - far too warm for us Scots people though !

Our family of 7 was extremely comfortable in this apartment. Our host Andrea was very helpful prior to our visit. Sibilli the property manager was the best, she helped us with so many suggestions. We really enjoyed Florence and hope to one day go back.

We loved this spacious & clean apartment! Plenty of rooms (4 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms) to accommodate a group of 7 (5 adults & 2 teens). We enjoyed exploring & eating in the local neighborhood away from the crowded touristy areas. There's a fruit stand below/adjacent to the apt., bakery, & grocery store across the street which is so convenient! The apartment's location is an easy walk (15-20 minutes) to the main part of Firenze (Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi, etc.) across the Arno River. The hosts were very responsive & provided lots of information (on how to use the wonderful espresso machine, washing machine, dryer, tv, etc.) There's no elevator so be prepared to carry luggage up 3 flights. Tip: pack light & do laundry at the apartment which was so convenient! There's also a clothing rack to hang dry (our preferred choice) if using the dryer is not your favorite option. Please separate your trash &recyclables as outlined in the apt. booklet; you'll need to drop off in the designated bins about a block away. Please also note that ordering a taxi for pick-up may not be an option during the height of the 2023 summer travel season. We tried to schedule taxis 24 hours in advance with no response; our host also tried about 2 hours before our departure time with no success at 3 taxi companies. There is a taxi/taxi driver shortage in Firenze. We ended up walking with luggage to the train station which took about 20-25 minutes (not too bad with luggage!) We enjoyed our stay at the apartment!

Sibilla met us at the property and greeted us. She gave us instructions and recommendations and was super helpful throughout the stay with any questions we had. Andrea was extremely thorough with instructions on how to operate everything. The apartment was spacious with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, the kitchen had everything you could need! Highly recommend this place. It’s a short walk to many of great restaurants and sites, but tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city. ❤️❤️❤️

A great apartment in a wonderful neighborhood! Spacious & clean! Air conditioning worked great and the kitchen was very well stocked with everything needed to cook a family dinner. Walking distance to all major sites in Florence and an easy walk from the train station. Check in process was super simple and Andrea was a great host, very responsive and provided a tremendous amount of valuable information about the apartment and the city of Florence. Will stay here again when I return to Florence!

Perfect for our group of 6 adults. Very large bedrooms and lounge/diner plus 2 bathrooms. Good location for the lovely local area and only 5mins walk to 1/2 bridges across to the more famous sights. Felt very safe at all times. Very close to great bakery and supermarket

The apartment is clean, well maintained in a great neighborhood. food shopping and good restaurants close by. A nice walk along the Arno to the Uffizzi Pitti area. Walking distance (15 minutes) to the train and bus stations. The owner and the local contact are very responsive and a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommend and would happily return.

This cozy beautiful apartment was perfect for the 6 of us traveling together ( my husband and I and our 2 adult children with their significant others). Andrea responded promptly to every question I had before traveling and though Andrea was not in Florence when we arrived we were left in the wonderful hands of Sibilla who was so very helpful. They offered great recommendations and Sibilla was so gracious in calling for taxis for us ! We absolutely recommend this VRBO! You will not be disappointed! The apartment is clean, spacious, beautiful and well stocked!

Exactly as advertised and perfect location. 4 huge bedrooms...allowed the teenagers to spread out and big King size for parents. But the place could have easily handled 4 couples, or more kids...owner can configure beds to 2 twins or kings for instance! 2 big bathrooms and stocked kitchen.
Owner has put a TON of thought into making sure English readers and/or folks who may not have experience operating European home appliances are comfortable...literally has a binder with instructions and QR code links to videos on how to operate everything in the apartment from the TV to the washing machine (great for those traveling with minimal luggage and purposely looking to wash clothes). Made everything extremely easy and worry free...so you don't have to try and remember everything when you check in (and are probably tired from traveling)
Great communication through entire process...before we booked by answering questions (location related to parking garage and restricted driving zones...note, appt outside of it so easy to load/on load), after we reserverd got us a reduced rate at nearby garage for our rental car, a owner answered questions while we planned trip, and then even once there, with restaurant recommendations and assisting with a last min reservation to a particular museum we wanted to see.
Fresh grocery downstairs, pastry/bakery across the street, and CONAD full size grocery store with everything from wine to pre-made food around the corner.
Walk from apartment to where the stature of David is displayed is 30 min...and all the other sites you will want to see in Florence is closer than that...really good location on south bank of the river.
Great value, great location, and excellent support! Will return for sure!

We immensely enjoyed staying here! It's a bit of a climb to the apartment with luggage but we managed! Once there, we enjoyed everything about the apartment. The walk to town was about 15-20 minutes but we had great weather and no complaints! Hope to return again in the future!

Stayed for 10 days with spouse, and 3 kids. Very comfortable stay, easy access to pretty much everything! Walkable from the train station, generally pretty quiet neighborhood, and made a great home away from home. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

This apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay in a busy city. The street is lined with restaurants and wine shops, but it is away from throngs of tourists. But it you want the crowds, they are a short walk away.
Things we loved:
Grocery store is less than a block away, fruit market is down the stairs.
Hosts are very responsive and helpful.
Many restraunts are within a block, including one in a park.
Brew pub on the block.
Bus stop accross the street.
Walkable, but away from the crowds.

We had 4 teen girls and my husband and myself stay in the apartment for 6 days in July, 2022. Communication was easy with Andrea and the apartment location is great, she's filled it with all the comforts of home! A small grocery store around the corner, bakery across the street and smaller fruit/veggie store right next door is perfect for supplementing our group needs. The neighborhood is quiet and much less "touristy" than across the river which was fine with us, a short walk across the river and you are in the heart of Florence. We really enjoyed the AC in the bedrooms AND the washer/Dryer in the bathroom. The layout of the apartment is fantastic for a larger group where everyone needed some space to hang. adn two bathrooms with 4 teen girls was a MUST! :) The living room and kitchen were so nice to have so we didn't need to eat out all the time and had space to hang on the couches. There is a little pizza place a few doors down that was perfect for feeding teen cravings late at night. The parents got to enjoy the little cafe/bar in the park that is around the corner next to the river. I'd love to stay here again and would HIGHLY recommend this to our friends or family. Thanks Andrea for setting up a perfect vacation location for our family. Whitney H.

Perfect 5 days in San Frediano
The apartment was fantastic! Super comfortable and well equipped and quiet. Perfect location - easy walk to all the places one wants to see in Florence and away from the crowds. The neighboring shops (greengrocer and bakery) were wonderful with lovely owners.
We will TOTALLY stay here again on our next trip

In the Neighbourhood
We choose the Oltarno of Florence because our family of light sleepers needed to be away from the busier tourist side of the city. The landlord went to the trouble of adding black out curtains for us and it worked beautifully.

Florence Stay
We had a great time in Florence . The apartment worked perfect for us. So clean and decor was amazing. Anything we needed we had! The location was great .. just a little away from the main hub but an easy walk to all the fun. Local dining was so good too!!! Would highly recommend this property!!

Beautiful home
We loved this place, felt like a proper home and everything was comfortable and how it should be. Was indeed close enough to centre but at the same time tucked away in own little neighbourhood. Pretty perfect to be honest. Thanks for the stay! Duncan and family.

We loved this beautiful home which has plenty of room and is very close to the best sites in Florence. The apartment is very clean, has 4 ample bedrooms with plenty of places to stash your stuff, and a great open room for stretching out and eating after a long day of site-seeing and shopping. The location is excellent as you are within walking distance (20min) of the major sites including Ponte Vecchio, Brunelleschi's Duomo, Giotto's Bell Tower, the Accademia, the Uffizi, and of course Pallazo Vecchio. There is a bus stop a few hundred feet from the front door and t's a short cab ride to Boboli Gardens and Piazzale Michelangelo which you should not miss for a spectacular sunset over the city. Andrea's home has everything you need...a washer and dryer for convenience, a full size refrigerator and even a dishwasher - unusual in Italy. The air conditioning was appreciated as we were experiencing upper 80's in early September. We were 3 sisters travelling with our 90 yr. old Dad, and the 2 full bathrooms were a plus for us. There are 2 flights of stairs to get to the apartment, but even my Dad made them easily. There is a great bakery across the street, a small market and fruit stand right outside the door and plenty of restaurants if you do not wish to cook. The apartment has all the basics for simple meals and we enjoyed gnocchi and pesto right at home one night - a real treat. The back bedrooms are very quiet and offer several offer a nice breeze if you don't like air conditioning. The decor is tastefully modern with firm beds and plenty of hot water. Everything is as described and we did not have a single issue. Do yourself a favor and arrange in advance for the nearby parking as it is somewhat difficult to get around in historic Florence with a car. Sibllia arranged that for us and it was worth the money! We would definitely recommend this lovely, comfortable home and would stay here again if we get back to Florence.

Lovely apartment, a little out of the main centre but fine if you don't mind walking. Good facilities although some of the beds very firm.

Beautiful, comfortable and spacious
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this apartment. Andrea has done a wonderful job in setting it up for his visitors, so that every need is met. It is beautifully decorated and well equipped with modern, well maintained appliances and bathrooms. We especially appreciated the coffee machine and, of course, the air conditioning, as it reached close to 40 degrees most days during our visit! The location is great - we were able to walk to most major attractions within 20 minutes, yet escape the busy tourist hub at night. Also several restaurants and a supermarket within walking distance. We would absolutely recommend this apartment. We are a family of 5, with 3 teenaged kids, so we appreciated having plenty of room to spread out and enjoy some quiet time at the end of our busy days together.
