Hotel Regina del Mare

The hostess was really nice, she really put in an effort to make us comfortable. The location is really nice if you want to relax, in the area there is not too much to do however.

The male owner was not really helpful, did not want to use google translate and kept talking long sentences of Italian. Also the pool is a nature pool, be aware of that, and due to the storm it was not useable (it was dark brown). Also, it is in the desciption but be aware, there is no airconditioning only a big fan. The rooms get really hot, which made it hard to sleep.

I loved the authenticity of the place. The staff speaks very little English, but if we spoke Italian, it would feel like your grandmother was taking care of you. We had a room with a balcony that offered a wonderful view of the beach, the town of Sant'Angelo, and late in the evening, we could even see Capri. They cleaned the rooms every day, even though we didn't ask them to. Breakfast included pastries, yogurt, deli meats, fruit, and eggs.

This place has two downsides: 1. Location—from the parking lot, it’s another 10-minute walk along the beach to the hotel. We knew this and took it into account, but in hot weather, it’s a bit of a hassle and makes things more complicated. It would be nice if they offered parking for at least scooters. 2. Room ventilation. Air conditioning would be very much needed. The rooms have fans, but they aren’t enough. There was simply no air in the room, which made staying there uncomfortable. In summary: because of these two drawbacks, I wouldn’t choose this hotel again, but if these don’t seem like a problem to you, we highly recommend the hotel.

AMAZING staff, really felt like I was in someone's home. Carmela felt like my Nonna. Amazing Views. Great food, REAL Italian prices. Beach chairs were great (free of charge), lovely thermal bath and Sauna. Wifi is good.

Bed wasn't the greatest

Very nice quaint hotel that is family owned. Nice quiet location right on the beach. The food was fantastic and the staff were great, especially Carmela! Amazing views throughout! We loved our private balcony overlooking the water.

There is NO AC which is just not acceptable. It felt like 40 degrees in our room at night. I had not realized this when I originally booked and only realized this about 2 months before our trip. I did not have the option to cancel but I almost cut my losses after the first night. I remained optimistic, hoping there would be a breeze but it was extremely difficult to sleep at night due to the extreme August heat. That said, they are planning to get AC next year. I really hope so for the sake of their future guests. Also, they really need to update the makeshift wood ramp they have between the beach and their building. Not only is it visually unappealing, it did not feel sturdy and is especially dangerous for children. They can do better. Note that it is a little bit of a trek to get there, taxi or bus to hotel from the Ischia port (10-15 minute ride, cost is 40 €) and the hotel staff meet you to help with your luggage after the cab ride as you can get there only by boat or a long walk on the beach in the heat ( about 1 km) which is not feasible with luggages. Thanks to Guido and the other staff that were so kind and took care of booking the taxi for us and met us to take care of our luggages at the drop-off point.
