The fascinating cozy Casa Barbagialla is a beautiful apartment in Como, in the pedestrian area of the marvellous historic center of the city. Located in a 17th century ancient building, the apt. is internally fully renoveted maintaining its antique structures. It welcomes up to 4 people and a baby. It is in the perfect position to visit Como, the front lake, the museums, enjoy the best restaurants, icea-creams, winebars, cafeterias, as well as to do shopping. All by foot, few minutes walking. The apartment is also very bright and absolutely quiet. The S.Giovanni train station and Como Lago train station are at 10 minutes walking distance. There is a bus stop at 3 minutes walking. The marine station, the boat piers, the funicular, the bus station are all at walking distance between 5 and 10 minutes max. Paid parkings are available in the neighboroud area. At request we may arrange a weekly fee for our guests. Casa Barbagialla welcomes all the people travelling with open minds, wishing to visit and stay on the Como lake for a while, with the respect and care expected at a gentle home. On the 65 total m2 , on one-floor, you will find a bright Living room with a fully equipped kitchen, including oven, microwave, dishwasher and a cozy dining table with 6 chairs, a large sofa, transformable in a confortable bed for two people (large Queen bed), a large flat television full-hd 43 inches, with satellite TV, a lovable fireplace, an armchair. Adjacent to the living-dining area there is a bright large double bedroom (large Queen bed) with a large closet. Adjacent to the room there is the bathroom with toilet, bidet, shower and bathtube integrated, with a window on the roof. Near the apartment entrance, before entering, there is a small storage room with the washing machine. Linen an towels are included, one set per stay per guest. Air conditioning is included, as well as a fully autonomous heating system and guests may set their desired temperature. Netflix is included also. Internet wifi completes the home facilities. I could go on and on but to keep it short and to the point, it was perfect for us. Had everything we needed. Great location, good bed, clean, roomy, modern, and great host. Can’t go wrong. The only potential issue is the stairs. Not an issue for us but it’s on the 3rd floor so carrying luggage up and down could be an issue. If we were to visit Como in the future , I would stay here again without question.

Nice clean apartment in central como, close to a lot of things. Only downside is it should’ve been described as an apartment for 4 people, the sofa bed is not comfortable at all, makes terrible noise for each movement. The apartment has sound proofing issue, toilet flushing is extremely loud. Fridge makes noise all night long. You can hear the breathing of the other people in the other room…

Newly renovated 3rd floor apartment that was very comfortable. Located in the heart of the city it was very easy to get everywhere we wanted to go. Maria is a superior host and helped us get into and out of the apartment, she was very accomodating. One warning, it's on the 3rd floor and there is not an elevator. Not a problem unless you can't climb stairs. The kitchen is well equipped and we cooked at home one night. Nice espresso coffee machine, we bought a box of pods and had fresh hot cappuccino every morning. Maria is a great communicator and WILL respond to your emails or texts.

Beautiful, spotless, spacious, and well-appointed apartment. Walking distance to train, boat dock, shops, and restaurants. Maria was very easy to communicate with beforehand so, check in was a breeze. We didn't want to leave.

Maria's apartment was perfectly situated in Como for easy access to everything including the trains and ferry's. There were adorable restaurants, cafes and shops all around the location. Maria was so nice and friendly - she offered some wonderful suggestions on where to eat and what to see and even drove us to the train station in the morning of our departure. The apartment itself is super nice and updated and comes with everything you may need, in including a top-floor view of the apartments and hills. The bed was the comfiest we had during our time travelling through Italy and the bathroom is nice and big.

There were a lot of stairs but so much old town charm that we just loved it. We could be in the center of the old town in just five minutes (once we learned our way around) but getting lost was half the fun. Wandering the narrow alleys and two different dinners at a Pronobis were a joy. Maria was so helpful to us and couldn’t have been nicer, helping us with transportation to and from the airport made the trip from Malpensa and to Milan so easy. We had a lot of plane schedule issues and she was right on top of our correspondence. We really appreciated her hands on helpfulness. I’d highly recommend this property.

This is a lovely, comfortable and very well equipped apartment in the middle of Como’s historic quarter. The lake is only a few minutes walk away and easy transport connections by train, boat and bus are all within a ten minute walk. The owners, Maria and Marcello could not have been more helpful and welcoming. We would be more than happy to stay here again.

Excellent and charming

A wonderful apartment right in the historic centre of Como, very well equipped and cozy - we felt at home from the moment we got in. The owners are lovely, reliable and very helpful; as one can't get to the apartment by car without special permission, they picked us up and drove us back to our public parking so we didn't have any issues with our luggage. Many thanks for everything - we'll be back!

Very well setup and nicely renovated apartment in the mediaeval centre of town - easy walking to trains grocers etc. Hosts Maria and Marcello extremely helpful and personally met and guided us to the apartment. Highly recommend this and would stay again on another trip to that part of the world.
