I really enjoyed my stay at Beach Lodge. The staff were incredibly friendly and the rooms were spacious, comfortable and beautifully appointed, with wonderful views of the Atlantic. There was something special about opening the curtains each morning to the powerful ocean, often shrouded in Swakopmund’s fog.
A huge unexpected bonus was The Wreck Restaurant. The food was outstanding, especially the fresh kingklip, with beautiful ocean views and impeccable service. Everything seemed to come effortlessly out of the kitchen and looked amazing. I stayed only two nights but ate there both evenings because it was so good! There’s also a casual bistro for meals and drinks during the day.
Nothing significant. Just be aware that Beach Lodge is outside central Swakopmund, so you’ll need to drive if you want to explore or eat in the centre. It wasn’t an issue for me, particularly with The Wreck Restaurant and the bistro right at the hotel.

Beautiful property with a beach and grassy lawn. Lovely views from most rooms. Very comfortable family rooms. Restaurant was really excellent with reasonable food and drink prices and they delivered excellent service even when handling several large group tables at one time. You do need to reserve dining even if you are a hotel guest because it is a popular restaurant. The hotel also has secure parking.
Hotel is a bit out of town; too far to walk to dinner there. Taxi prices from the hotel for a very short taxi ride into town were excessively high. The hotel web site is cumbersome to use and it is difficult to find basic information, including details about the various room configurations. Insufficient information about the restaurant.

Location
Shower water took awhile to get hot. Bed was hard. No air conditioning. Was expecting a full info package on breakfast times, WiFi, room service if any. I was told it will be provided after booking appears on system but no efforts were made to deliver the information
