Helen's house

Helen has a traditional house in chinese style. She doesn't speak English, so communication is difficult as I don't speak Mandarin. Some Chinese traditions are different from English ones. There was never enough toilet paper given, and there was no plug for the bath I had to ask constantly for both, and a bath plug was never provided. Helen washed my clothes in traditional Chinese style using the garden tap and a bucket. We had some interaction when I did chinese Caligraphy with her, and I enjoyed watching her making traditional Chinese dumplings. The use of the swimming pool was difficult as Helen had to let me in with a code on her phone If she was out for the day, we couldn't use it. She always insisted for my daughter to be with me to ensure my safety. However, other residents did not approve of Helen's guests using the pool due to previous guests who had abused the situation by having late night alcohol pool parties. However, she was welcoming towards my daughter and my grandchildren as I was with her granddaughter. She always called me beautiful when I wore my white sundress. She photographed me wearing it. We parted friends. She is tiring of the duties of being a host, and she is retiring in July.

Helen could be abrupt. She texted me to say, "Could I tidy up the living room I can only assume it meant that I pick up my shoes from the front door area. She insisted that outdoor shoes could not be worn in her house She gave alternative slippers that were floppy and, therefore, dangerous on the stairs, and there were no handrails. She also texted me to tell me to flush the toilet as I was being considerate to other guests by not flushing through the night. If I had not flushed solid faeces, I could appreciate her curt remarks. Also, she had turned the t.v. off if I stirred to make a drink of tea. However, at other times, she offered me dinner with some of her homemade dumplings , tea, cake, and biscuits.

Very clean and well maintained house.

Location is great. Helen, such a lovely and sweet lady.

Room was on west. It was very hot in the evening during sunset.

Great scenic home.

Beautiful scenic area. In its own gated apartment, security is so good. Clean and comfortable rooms. Halen made us feel welcome.

Too far from amenities and gated community so uber could not go in. Need owner to let u in, a little hard with luggage and kids in tow.

Good value and suited by needs for quick overnight stay.

Helen was very lovely and accommodating. The house was nice and modern. It suited our purpose of being close to an event venue for somewhere to sleep overnight.

My only criticism was the bed was far too firm for my liking. It was very hot so I eventually ended up sleeping on top of the doona for a bit of comfort. The bathroom could have done with a quick vacuum and mop.

Very good

House is very neat, tidy and clean. Helen is very friendly and considerate. Helen makes effort to welcome guests and make them comfortable in her home. We would stay here again.

House was not heated and was cold. An extra blanket would have helped. The bed is very firm and bordering on uncomfortable as we are used to medium firm beds.

the worst accomodation experience of my life

nothing

i was made to feel really low. im a construction worker and booked a night to stay for work. was told i should go to sleep at 9.45pm. the owner barely spoke English . i had a cigarette far away from the property but heard her speaking to her son about it and judging me for it. the bed was rock hard. IT WAS THE ABSOLUTE WORST ACCOMODATION EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. 12 hour work shift yesterday and 12 hours today. i booked this property to get a good nights rest . but what I got was anxiety! today I feel depressed that I spent money to stay here. $94 for a hellish night! how do I feel. dissatisfied and beyond frustrated

The Owner Helen was very obliging & friendly. The room was a good size & free WiFi available. The facilities were clean & tidy.

Very clean and tidy home, lovely bathroom and a very pleasant welcome from Helen. Very calm environment for a relaxing break.

Could have been clearer on the website that it was a shared homestay, in Helen's actual house rather than a guest house. An improvement would be to work out a way for guests to enter the property themselves as knocking each time felt a bit intrusive. Also maybe Helen could clarify or leave a note saying if the kitchen and living area were available for guest use.
