2-bedroom condo on the Roanoke Sound in the gated Pirate's Cove Resort. Enjoy the Sunrise views in this property with 2 Bedrooms and 2 Bathrooms, accommodating 4. Saturday Check-in/Check-out in-season. This is an elevator building with access to a community pool, fitness center, tennis courts, and clubhouse. Master bedroom with King bed and door leading to furnished, sound front covered deck, 2nd bedroom with Queen bed. 3 flat-screen TVs, high-speed WiFi, and ceiling fans all come with the condo. No land-line phone available. Panoramic view of Roanoke Sound off of the covered and furnished deck. Parking for 2 vehicles maximum. No covered parking for trailer. Boat slip not offered at this time. The condo is non-smoking and does not allow for tenant pets.

Hubs & I stayed for a short 4 days.
PROs:

Perfectly lovely surroundings.
GREAT view from our balcony, right out on the sound. Beautiful early mornings w coffee, staring out at the calm water. We were there for the full moon, which rose in glory over Nags Head each evening! Kitchen well stocked w essential equipment. All the appliances worked. The furnishings were in good shape. No frayed edges on the sofa.
CONs:
-In general, the janitorial staff needs some guidance and more oversight. The place is clean, generally, but the slightly “out of sight” spots are definitely “out of mind”. Window sills behind the blinds. Baseboards & corners. Vents. W/D. That dreaded coffee pot & the fan blades.
-Some appliances have just about reached their expiration dates. W/D is a little rusty and screeches when you raise the lid.
-That coffee pot the person before us complained about is STILL very dirty, even though I scrubbed it vigorously. Doesn’t keep the brewed coffee very warm & really, just needs to be replaced.
-The ceiling fan blades still have that build up of gunk on the leading edge.
THINGS THAT MIGHT BE IMPORTANT TO YOU:
-There are no coffee filters on site. Bring your own or end up going to the store.
-A lot of light comes through the plantation blinds at night from street lights. If that bothers you, better bring an extra blanket to drape over the windows.
-There was only one extra blanket in the place & I wasn’t willing to give it up for a window drape.
-The beds are firm. Pretty firm.
-The pillows really are abysmal. No nice way to put that. Small. Flat. Hard. Lumpy. Two on the double bed. Three on the king. One extra in the closet, but no pillow case. Bring your own.
-The only food items in the unit are salt & pepper.
-The washer does not have hot water connected. If you try to wash on hot, it will appear that the washer is not even plugged in. I did the breaker. Checked the plug. Tried every cycle. Finally turned the water temp dial. BINGO! Cold only.
-Morning coffee on the balcony makes up for a lot!

It’s the little things that would have taken maybe 10-15 minutes to fix. The ceiling fan in the family room was filthy. Two of the six lightbulbs in the master bathroom needed to be replaced. The light bulb on the microwave needed to be replaced as well. The coffee maker was also
FILTHY! We bought a new one to use during our stay!
This unit, along with others in Buccaneer Village could definitely use updates!!
We did however, enjoy the view of the sunrise each morning and even having our very own “dolphin show” !! We’ve been vacationing at Pirates Cove for the last 25+ years and love it there!
Sometimes as an owner you may want to sit and see what those that are spending their hard earned money are seeing:). It’s a house payment for one week for many and that’s where they are choosing to spend it! Make it GREAT!!
