One of the best hotels in Antananarivo, with friendly staff who will help you book tickets and arrange transfers, and very reasonable prices. If you need to relax in Antananarivo for a few days, this is the best choice.

The surrounding streets are unsafe at night, and it is a bit of a distance to a few Chinese restaurants, but that is not the hotel's fault.

I spent my first two nights in Mada at the Villa, which I selected for its proximity to the Cotisse bush taxi station. So, I had no idea what to expect. The Villa is on the upper two floors of the building on a walled and gated compound. When it wasn't raining, there were nice views of the area/city. The WiFi was good. The staff were very friendly and helpful - they took the initiative to find me a Soatrans reservation when I learned that Cotisse had unilaterally cancelled my online booking, and also arranged for ground transportation (airport pickup, local, early a.m. to Soatrans). The meals (breakfast, dinner) were delicious, fresh, well-prepared, and reasonably priced. (There is a kitchen for those who prefer to cook). There are small stores on the street to buy food and drink. I had several good (normal) massages.
There were a number of issues for me. A deposit was required beforehand to confirm the reservation, which was inconvenient from home (as with Cotisse), and proved relatively expensive as I had to use PayPal. The billing was confusing, and I never got my (small) change back. The toilet and bathroom facilities are separated from each other and are shared, which creates hygiene issues (door handles). The balcony was also shared with a neighboring room; the sliding door did not lock, and it was first come first serve. For some reason, a radio playing music was left on each night in the common area. Lastly, I had an early morning departure, and the downstairs exit door to the courtyard was locked and could not be opened; fortunately, other guests (Malagasy) were also leaving, and one of them returned upstairs to the Villa and was able to find a key to unlock the door (this should have been communicated to guests beforehand both for safety in case of a fire emergency, but also to exit when necessary) - an elderly woman in a private apartment on the entry floor watched us but did not assist us.

Very kind personel, and a good location if you want to go with Cotisse or have some work with the ministries.
If you are just a normal tourist planning to spend time in Tana, I would maybe choose a location closer to the centre.

Room was big and comfortable, bed was clean
Table was dirty and I sow one big cockroach .
Location was very noisy , a lot of local people outside , it’s like Basar .
