Located in Ocean Beach, this lovely house for $375 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. Welcome to the Colorful Coastal Cottage! We are located in the quiet and serene residential area of south Ocean Beach and Sunset Cliffs, San Diego. Walk a short few blocks to Sunset Cliffs Natural Park or approximately 1 mile (20-25 minute walk or 10 minute bike ride or 10 minute bus ride) from the famous and eclectically fabulous and lively downtown Ocean Beach with it’s numerous shops, dining options, bars, sweets, and the main beach, complete with lifeguards, a wide stretch of sand, swimming and surfers. Relax in our cozy, mid-century cottage in our peaceful neighborhood with ocean breezes and ocean views, recently remodeled and decorated with a casual coastal vibe. Hang out on the roomy front deck to watch the sun set, or relax in the spacious backyard, complete with lounge chairs, dining table, BBQ, hot tub and roomy lawn. We offer a spacious living room, with hardwood floors, a gas fireplace and a flat screen TV. The original retro kitchen has modern appliances, spices for cooking and a cool Nespresso Coffee Bar. There is off street parking (although there is plenty of street parking out front). Walk 2-3 blocks to the divine and beautiful Sunset Cliffs Natural Park, the secluded cliffs of Ocean Beach, and to the local mini marts and eateries. I have lived in San Diego for over 35 years and am happy to assist with suggestions and information regarding the city during your stay. We look forward to hosting you at our home away from home!* *Please note: Guests are required to accept our separate Vacation Rental Agreement and submit valid photo ID’s (to be exchanged after Booking). This property is located in a quiet neighborhood with neighbors living very close to each other as in most beach-side communities. We welcome quiet, respectful and responsible tenants. If you plan on entertaining more than a few friends or family, please note this property is not right for you. Minor decor details are subject to change from photos - I like to switch things up a little. If the dates you are interested are not showing as available on the calendar, shoot me a message. Booking dates can be flexible because we are lucky to live close by and frequently block out dates for our family to enjoy the Cottage. Bookings for 30+ nights available between Labor Day and Memorial Day. Discounts available. If interested, please inquire for more details. Four (4) night minimum for all bookings. Early check-in (before 4:00) or late check-out (after 11:00), if available, may be requested for an additional fee. This property is listed ONLY on VRBO - any other listing is sadly a scam! Rachel’s place was perfect for our Labor Day getaway! We appreciated her being there to show us around (even though we arrived quite late) and answer any questions we had. The house is comfortable and felt spacious, the countertops and fixtures are super cute too! The Nespresso machine is awesome and everything I never knew I needed, it’s on my Christmas list now! Coffee on the front porch in the morning is so nice and the backyard is gorgeous as well. The outdoor shower came in handy after a day spent at the beach. There was plenty of parking both in the driveway behind the house and on the street, the neighborhood is quiet and super cute. Close to all that OB has to offer but far enough away that it’s quiet and calm. We walked to Sunset Cliffs for an incredible sunset view, walked to the OB pier and walked to The Cliffs Cafe for breakfast burritos and coffee. The location worked very well for all of our San Diego adventures including the San Diego Zoo, Old Town, Seaport Village and Petco Park. We will be back!

Loved the 1950's vibe, especially the kitchen and that refrigerator straight out of 1955. Beautiful property. Great romantic get-away. Very restful when you get used to the jets going out of
San Diego airport. They never stop. I can't say enough about dealing with the owner, Rachel was wonderful and helpful in every way. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a fabulous time at this charming, colourful cottage in Ocean Beach. The neighbourhood is great and feels safe and friendly the beach is a few minutes away as well as shops, restaurants and markets in Ocean Beach.
There's a laid-back California vibe about the cottage with vintage and retro furnishings giving it a fun, holiday feeling - with California shutters and ceiling fans keeping it cool and breezy. We loved it all: the front deck has exceptionally comfortable furniture - a hammock to enjoy as well as a conversation area for drinks at sunset. The back garden has bbq, table for eating and more comfortable seating as well as a hot tub and our personal favourite - the outside shower. Rachel has provided everything we could have wanted: beach towels, bikes, boogie boards, and a really well stocked kitchen to help enjoy the wonderful local produce.
I would not hesitate to book the cottage again and hope to return before too long!

Well furnished with plenty of pots, pans, dishes, and, silverware. We have stayed many places and this is usually not the case. so greatly appreciated..

Rachel (the owner) was easy to communicate with and work with.
Beautifully landscaped and manicured lawn, garden/flowerbeds.
Large backyard with plenty of chairs a wrought iron dining table, a hot- tub, and a large, very clean gas grill.
Convenient parking in the front or rear of the home.
Quality clothes washer and dryer.

We stayed for 4 nights in mid-June.The house was just as shown in the website pictures. Immaculately clean, fun 50's vibe. Spacious back yard, perfect place to hang out. A panoramic view of the ocean from the front porch, with wonderful breezes. Set up to enjoy all outdoor spaces, plenty of space inside for 2-4 people. It's a quiet walkable neighborhood, just a few blocks from the main drag. Love that there's a parking spot in the back, if needed, but we had no problem parking on the street. Wish we could have spent more time there.

This was our second time time to stay at the Colorful Coastal Cottage and we had a wonderful time there with friends who joined us for the week. Rachel is an excellent host, and the home is clean, comfortable and inviting with great indoor and outdoor spaces to relax and hangout. We stay at a handful of vacation rentals annually and this one is definitely at or near the top of our list of favorites. The location is fantastic, the home is incredibly well thought out and super cute, and the property manager is top notch. This will be on our list for a return trip to San Diego!

There is no way you could be disappointed with this beautiful property. Hosts have thought of everything and clearly take great pride and care of this home. Great location, off street parking ( though plenty of street parking), quiet neighbors and never bothered by overhead air traffic. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

I so enjoyed my stay at the Colorful Coastal Cottage! I grew up in Point Loma/Ocean Beach so I know the area. I now live on the East Coast and needed a place to stay while I was "home" for a visit. This was the perfect location for walking to get a latte at a local spot in the morning, relaxing with family during the day, and watching the sunset in the evening. The house is extremely well maintained, and was the perfect size for my sister, my adult daughter, and I to hang out and enjoy ourselves. I've stayed in a lot of houses in many parts of the country over the years, and this house was very well stocked with everything we needed for our stay. The backyard was particularly amazing! I would absolutely stay here again! Thank you, Rachel, for your hospitality!

The coastal cottage was the perfect place for our vacation with our daughter and son-in-law. Location is fabulous, close to everything and those sunsets from the front porch….exquisite! The cottage has everything you need and is very comfortable and relaxing. Very quiet and just a quick bike ride to the beach. Where do I even begin…Rachel and Jeff’s home is absolutely AMAZING!! They are the sweetest hosts and their home is truly a gem tucked away in the OB/Point Loma area. I am from San Diego and have stayed at tons of different rental properties over the years, and this was the BEST property we have ever stayed at. The location, cleanliness, ocean views, full equipped kitchen, hot tub, large backyard, comfy beds/pillows, and beach decor made our vacation simply perfect! This was the first time in 15 years I actually wanted to move back to San Diego lol! Sitting on the front patio every morning enjoying coffee and açaí bowls from The Cliffs Cafe set the tone for each day. The views were incredible and the walk to the beach was so fun. Can’t wait to make their home our yearly tradition every summer! Thank you so much again, we will be back soon! :)
