We stayed at this home for a family party of 7 and had a great time. The view is amazing and Carol and Bob were quick to handle our request for more water. My husband also fixed the spring on the front door. We loved using the games and DVD provided also.

We enjoyed our stay at this wonderful home on Green Lake. There was plenty of room for our family to spread out. The home was clean and welcoming with a smores kit and kayaks/tubes to enjoy the lake. I don't think you could find a better view with plenty of wildlife to enjoy on the back dock. Highly recommend staying here!

It was a little further from Arcadia National park than we wanted, but the house and lake were beautiful and we loved sitting on the deck listening to the sound of the Loons. The owners were so nice and quick to respond.

The hosts, Bob and Carol, provide a lovely home on Green Lake that is large and ample for many people, but retains the charm of a cozy Maine experience, with its knotty pine walls. The rooms are all beautifully furnished, very clean, and the kitchen nicely stocked. The garage is another added plus, as well as the air conditioning for hot days and nights. The home’s location overlooking Green Lake is stunning. You are treated to a front row view of a pristine lake, with the haunting cries of loons in the background. The hummingbirds were plentiful, and we enjoyed their constant companionship. The house also comes with a ping pong table and kayaks. It is conveniently located to Bar Harbor and Acadia, where we visited once we could pry ourselves off the deck. Bob and Carol are thoughtful hosts, quick to respond with good information. Highly recommend if you are looking for a nice, safe, and reliable home in which to stay. Thank you, Carol and Bob!

We loved the properties proximity to Mt. Desert Island, the coast, Portland and Bangor. We spent our time hiking, biking, enjoying seafood, watching wildlife, fishing, kayaking and relaxing on the deck with a beautiful view. Plenty of ping pong and game nights to boot. The space was perfect and plenty for our grown children, their partners and the us. Communication with Bob and Carol was timely and always helpful. Thanks for sharing your wonderful home!

The location is excellent. Reasonably close to Acadia National Park and grocery stores, etc. sits close to the lake and has beautiful views. However, we were extremely upset to discover that the water from the faucets is not potable. This was not mentioned in the description and would have been a deal breaker. The host provided a water dispenser, but drawing water directly from the lake and not disclosing such before hand borders on fraud.
The Wi-Fi is not high speed. It is a Verizon hot spot with very slow downloads. Certainly not suitable for multiple family devices. Although located on a great fishing lake, the host does not provide any fishing equipment. Again, this should be mentioned in the description. Also, the host only proved two rolls of toilet paper for a group of seven. The host told me that any paper products were provided as a courtesy. Once again, this should be disclosed so that
Guest can buy an adequate supply. We had to travel thirty minutes to go and buy paper towels, etc. as well as having to buy dishwasher tabs and clothes detergent. No spices were provided. This could be a really wonderful rental if the hosts cared more about their guests.

We enjoyed the loons and sunrise, along with the beautiful lake! The smores were a great touch, and we liked watching the hummingbird feeder.
Our only complaint is that the wifi was unusable with our family of 8, but we still a great time!

Stayed at this home and everything was as described. Reached out to the owners with a minor issue which was corrected the next day. Had a great stay in the house. Went to Acadia on two separate occasions and also to Bar Harbor one day for a nature cruise. Easy drive to both locations. Great fishing off the dock for kids who spent hours out there every day we were at the house.

This is a big house that allows room for all to enjoy. Cooking in kitchen is easy with everything needed to create a good meal. Having a s'more kit meet us on arrival was super nice.
The star show at night on the deck is absolutely wonderful and during the day you can see hummingbirds at the feeder. It was great having a beach close by that our young grandson and non swimmers could feel comfortable going in. The water off the deck is relatively deep which was fine for swimmers. Kayaking was also great on the lake. We enjoyed some nice local restaurants and loved going to Acadia and Bar Harbor. The week flew by!

Very nice location overviewing the lake. Great place to come back to at the end of the day. Kayaking, fires, swimming, ping pong, and 100's of dvds. Thank you!

Great July 22 vacation!!
We loved our home away from home! Perfect weather and wonderful accommodations. More than enough space, everything we needed -and more-was available. Beds were very comfortable and the best bath and beach towels! Beautiful sunrises, we thoroughly enjoyed swimming, floating, kayaking, and SUPing from the dock. The water is so clear and refreshing. We had some hot days- upper 80's. We caught several small fish throughout the week and had some epic ping pong battles. Enjoyed the firepit and the fresh blueberries nearby. Even had roasted blueberry s'mores- you gotta try it- delicous!! Great selection of movies, I think we watched 1 every night! Had delicious meals at Union Lobster Pot in Ellsworth, Cherrystones and Mainely BBQ in Bar Harbor and yummy ice cream at Morton Moo's and Udder Heaven. The owners were very responsive with questions or concerns. Highly recommend. We had a great week! Thank you for sharing your home!

Wonderful Lakeside Vacation
We enjoyed a beautiful week at the lake! Bob and Carol’s home is beautiful, had all the amenities we could ask for including wonderful beach and bath towels, kayaks, dock, fire pit, air conditioning, and more! The hosts were easy to reach for questions and very pleasant! Our group of 7 adults had plenty of space to gather as well as privacy when needed. We loved swimming, fishing, fires, the amazing views, and all the humming birds and loons. One of our best
vacations! Thank you Bob and Carol for
sharing your wonderful home!

Relaxing and convenient
The house was exactly as pictured, large and nicely appointed. We enjoyed the view from the back deck and the ease of travelling to Bangor and Acadia from it. Very quiet, pretty, and relaxing location, yet close to activities.

Wonderful Lakeside retreat
Property was unique with an outstanding location overlooking the lake. Our family utilized the dock access for everything from swimming, relaxing in tubes, kayaking, and pontoon boat mooring. The stars from the back deck at night were a highlight. Fire pit in backyard allowed a nighttime closeness. Kitchen well equipped and spacious enough for a variety of different meals to be prepared simultaneously. Comments were even made about the luxuriousness of the bath towels. Only negative was we had several hot days and a couple of the bedrooms lacked cooling forcing bedroom doors to be kept open to the common area for relief. Otherwise our stay was magnificent and a perfect retreat! Thank you Bob and Carol for renting your wonderful home to us!

Lake front home.
Was a very nice clean place.
Back yard was very hilly, and hard to walk down.
Lake was great to swim and use kayaks.
The only thing we missed was air conditioning in the whole house. Which they said they plan to put it in next year. It was extremely hot at the time we were up there, normally it’s not that hot. The owner were very nice. Was there when we need them. Couldn’t ask for nicer owners.
Thanks.

Beautiful view, great location
This lovely private home has wonderful views of Green Lake and is in walking distance to Jenkin's Beach, which is great for kids and where adults can rent boats of all sorts. The mattresses are comfortable and the house is constructed with two "wings," so there can be a side for parents and their young children and another side for adults. It takes some getting used to and working out a system for the shared upstairs bathroom, but for one nuclear family it is OK. The extended family used the downstairs bathroom. The house is extremely spacious and well-stocked with kitchen-ware, videos, TVs and furniture, including starter-supplies of toilet paper, paper towels and soaps. Additionally, Carol and Bob were extremely responsive to our needs. It was a wonderful stay and I highly recommend this beautiful spot!

We thoroughly enjoyed our family vacation at the Rice’s lakefront house on Green Lake, despite inclement weather on six of the seven days we were there. The house lived up to its description and five-star reviews on Vrbo.
Here are a few of the highlights for our family:
We enjoyed the large deck with spectacular views of Green Lake. There are two separate eating areas as well as comfortable chairs to enjoy the fresh air, quiet, and views.
Jenkins Beach and Jenkins Boat Rental are just a short, easy walk from the house along the non-operating rail tracks next to the lake. This came in really handy for our family, especially for our 17-month old granddaughter who enjoyed the sandy beach and boat rides. We rented a boat for the week and kept it at the Rice’s dock which worked out perfectly.
Because of the weather, we had to spend considerable time indoors. Fortunately, the Rices provide extremely comfortable furniture, Direct TV, an extensive collection of DVDs, books, puzzles, and games, so we plenty to keep us occupied. And the views from the inside are almost as good as from the deck.
Our family also appreciated that all of the bedrooms are air-conditioned. We all slept soundly, even on the nights that were quite warm and humid.
Our only disappointment was the slow internet. The description of the house states that there is high speed WiFi/internet. That was not the case for us. The internet was slow and there were periods when we weren’t able to connect at all, even when the weather was good. My daughter and son-in-law had a few work projects during the week and were hoping to do them from the lake house but weren’t able to do so. They had to drive to their home in Bangor on three occasions to ensure that they had a reliable internet connection. This may not be an issue for families who don’t need a high speed connection during their vacation stay, but if you do, you might want to talk to the Rices to see if there is a way to upgrade the service during your stay.
And finally, the Rices were a pleasure to work with. They were friendly, helpful, and responded promptly to our questions and issues. We thank them for giving us a memorable experience at Green Lake.

Our family so enjoyed our week at this property. We were greeted with an exceptionally clean space on arrival as well as a yummy welcome gift. The view of the lake (from the decks, from the living room, from the master bedroom and from the lawn and fire pit) is fabulous and a highlight of our stay. The house is well stocked (kitchen, fluffy bath towels as well as numerous beach towels.). We enjoyed time on the dock, floating in the lake, kayaking and just plain relaxing. We went to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor.... both less than an hour away. Ellsworth had several delicious restaurants and the restaurant at the The Lucerne Inn in Dedham was great as well. We highly recommend this property.

The house and location was amazing. We rented a pontoon boat and loved having the easy access to the lake. The only negative thing I can say is that it was extremely hot last week and there is no air conditioning on the first floor. The second floor has some window units but since it was 92 degrees inside the bottom floor, the units in the upstair rooms were still brutal. I understand that these temperatures aren’t necessarily normal for Maine but it made the first couple days of our stay a little challenging. Especially when you spend the type of money we did for the week.

Bob and Carol were great to work with. However we did have a few problems with leaks in the skylight and the kitchen sink. They responded quickly which was great. The neighbour did yell at us for going through his driveway to leave the property-it is a common driveway I guess only part of the way. We had a great time in the water, watching the hummingbirds and going to Acadia park and Bar Harbor which were less then an hour away.

Everything was mostly great about the property. It was clean, right off the lake and the views were awesome. We were so happy with the space but then the imperfections started to make themselves known. The ice maker was broken which meant we had to go buy our own ice for coolers, which was an inconviencience. There was an apparent leak coming from one of the skylights in the living room, as well as some other construction issues. There were visible floor seams at every doorway and you can openly see the insulation when taking a shower in the upstairs bathroom (it's concerning that there is no vapor barrier). There was no ability to open up the windows in the upstairs bedrooms, which meant it got a little hot in there from time to time. Thankfully, there was a fan provided. The TV in the main living room did have a large permanent stain on it, that was a little distracting from time to time when watching certain programming. The most concerning of issues was that after being there a few nights I felt something on my face a few times. I woke up to see a mouse running across my face. The next morning I went out to buy ultra sonic mouse blockers and traps, definitely not an expected expense or pleasant experience. All and all I recognize that there are somethings that the host cannot control but there did seem to be some corners cut during construction. The view is impressive but can only make up for so much.

Beautiful View on the Lake
We had a wonderful time in Bob and Carol's Cabin right 9n Green Lake. We enjoyed the kayaks and hiking. There are plenty of walking trails. The cabin is roomy and accommodated all 7 of us. Only downside was the person sleeping in the twin beds had to go thru the master bedroom to use the bathroom. Since we are all 60÷, we get up for several bathroom stops thru the night. This property is far enough from Bar Harbor to avoid crowds but close enough to visit each day. Thank you Bob and Carol for sharing your cabin!!

Amazing
We had such a great time. The property is right on the lake with amazing views, access to the water and nature. The lake was perfect for kayaking and swimming. We loved the tables on the deck and enjoyed many family dinners out there.

Green Lake get-away
My family enjoyed staying at Bob and Carols Green Lake home. It has spectacular viewsof the lake. The camp has everything you would need. We had a wonderful time at night having s'mores at the fire pit looking over the lake or playing ping pong in the garage. Bob and Carol always respond quickly when we needed them. I like the Dedham area as it is close to Ellsworth for grocery shopping and close to Bangor to eat at some fabulous restaurants. I would highly recommend this camp and will be back in the future.
