Located in Surf City, this lovely house for $525 per night is a great choice for your next break. NEW HOME NEW LISTING!!! Built in 2019, we moved in December 10. 4020 4th St. Surf City NC 28445 Our VRBO listing is a work in progress. We have over 40 pictures to view our home inside and out. Enjoy our boat ramp, dock and walk ways. Beach area between sea wall and dock, great for kids, and mounting kayaks. We rent from Saturday to Saturday. Please feel free to ask questions. Brand new home as of December 2019 0.2 miles to beach access 0.3 miles to convenience store Cargo lift from ground to deck for all your luggage. 6 bedrooms: two king suites, three queen bedrooms, kids room with two bunks, sleeper sofa for 2 - sleeps 16 people comfortably. Overhead fans in five bedrooms. 4 full baths - endless HOT water with tankless water heater, able to take three showers at one time. Fully furnished kitchen with all pots, pans, dishes etc. - seats 18 people High Chair for young infants. Boat ramp, 10 X 20 dock, half of the dock covered Swing and two picnic tables, and six chairs under house. We now have a corn hole game for outdoor fun. Book case with books and games. Six beach chairs for adults, 2 for children, to use. 4 Kayaks 4 modern smart TVs, Free Internet, cable TV, also a TV with DVD player on a small table in the upstairs hall for kids to use. Covered porch facing canal. We decided not to provide bed linen, bath towels or kitchen towels. We have reduced our house rent to save you money, so, you can bring your own linen and towels, or, we have provide names and numbers to call, so you can create your own package to suit the needs of your group. 5 people, 10 people, 16 people. In 2023 it was worst than bad. So, we have added Grundfos, SCALA2 boost pump. This will keep good water pressure, even on the top floor shower. Enjoy.

We had a great stay at this house. Very comfortable for our family of 9. Very clean and welcoming upon arrival. The kids enjoyed fishing off the dock daily and using the kayaks provided at the property. Also appreciated the beach chairs available for use. Very quick walk to the beach. If you have a boat to bring it is an ideal location to enjoy the intracoastal and the beach in the same trip. Excellent communication with property owner. Highly recommend and would stay again!

As a farm family we enjoyed this “farm” home with great views of the canal, wonderful tractor displays, and minutes away from the beach. The owner is awesome and answered all our questions. If you’re looking to stay close to the beach with family and friends this is a great place to stay!

This was our 3rd year staying at this property and we have always had a great time and this time was not any different except we came Fourth of July week and will never do this again. The water pressure is nonexistent so we went days without proper showers or toilet flushing. I was a bit confused on why my neighbors had water but we didn’t . I think the owner did as much as her could but we were hoping for some kind of compensation for not having showered for 2 solid days. He did offer 200 off next year rental but that was very slight considering we we extremely understanding and have stayed years in a row. We will definitely come back to surf city but will most likely not be there that week.

House was great size for our family of 10. Well stocked kitchen. Enjoyed the kayaks and corn hole game. Thank you for the wagon, it helped with getting all our things to the beach and back. Very easy to communicate with owner. Would definitely rent again. Thank you!

The property was great and accommodated our 3 generations of family nicely! This is the fourth year we have stayed here We love the location and enjoyed everything from kayaking, swimming, boating, fishing, beaching to coffee runs!

We had a wonderful stay! Our group of 13 people, ranging in age from 1 to 61, had all the bedrooms, bathrooms and space we needed to have a terrific beach vacation. We loved the outdoor space at the house and played many games of corn hole. We used the kayaks several times. We cooked most of our meals in the house and had everything we needed to make them. The walk to the beach was between 5-10 minutes and was very easy. We spent each day on the beach and enjoyed the amount of space available for our group to spread out. We would definitely stay again!

Our extended families gathered at this home for a fun vacation. The house was spacious and well laid out. We enjoyed being able to use the boat ramp and the dock was in great condition. The kayaks provided with the house provided lots of fun for the kids. Communication with the property owner was extremely easy. Thank you.

We all loved this house. It fit our 15 person family so well. We didn't feel cramped and everything was up to date and beautiful. All the pans and pots and dishes were there to feed a crowd. The owner and his wife were really nice and checked in on us via text to make sure all was well. The property is so nice and you get good breezes under the house so we ate on the outside picnic tables most of the time. Loved this house!!

What vacation?
This is a very nice home. All the reviews were great. Then on my way down I get a phone call that he has cameras up. Watching his boat ramp. Well they watch every move you make outside and then we were concerned is there any inside?? He calls/or text several times a day. We mistakenly plugged into the neighbors outlet (right at his boat lift) and she contacted him so of course he contacted me. I went over apologized and gave her my name and number. She was nice and said no worries to enjoy the rest of my vacation. I soon found out the problem isn't with the renters. The owner is at war with both neighbors. When you pay what we paid for the week you don't want to be videoed or harassed on vacation!! I think he should have to put in his description that he has videos up because I can promise you I would have never purchased this home to rent. If you can't trust people to stay in your home without watching their every move you don't need to rent it out. Very miserable week.

Friendly owner nitpicky house keepers
Nice place and owner is very friendly. Only complaint is I feel the house cleaners are trying to take advantage of the owner by charging extra due to the "mess" that we left. Which most of the items they mentioned were these that is a part of normal cleaning.

Beautiful home with amazing views, we loved being able to hop in the boat and go for a ride and the home’s personal boat ramp made that a breeze! Spacious rooms and a lovely living area. We would definitely stay here again!

2021 Beach Vacation to Surf City
Mr. Cartwright was an amazing host. He did a great job of communicating through the whole process and during our stay. Everyone loved hanging out out under the house and on the dock. This was the best beach house I’ve stayed at in my 20 years of renting houses. The house was clean and had an awesome layout that accommodated the 11 guest we had with us. We look forward to booking this house again! Thank you!

We bought a boat last year and wanted to find a place that had a dock with deep water access. This rental property was perfect. It was great for our kids to be able to swim, kayak and fish in the canals and be able to hop on the boat and go. We had three families with children and it had ample room for all of us. Great vacation
We bought a boat last year and wanted to find a place that had a dock with deep water access. This rental property was perfect. It was great for our kids to be able to swim, kayak and fish in the canals and be able to hop on the boat and go. We had three families with children and it had ample room for all of us. Great getaway
This was a great space for our beach week! Only about a 5 minute walk to the beach, and the kids loved swimming and fishing off the pier (we even attempted kayaking with the boats provided)! The owner was excellent with communication. Would definitely stay there again!

Spring Break in Surf City
We had a wide range of ages in our group - and we had so much space, everyone was comfortable. We loved the large kitchen table not only for dining together, but we love to play games and it was the perfect setup. We had awesome outside areas, the deck off the kitchen, the area on bottom level for tables and chairs and then there is the wonderful dock - where we also played games. The deck and dock and all outside areas as well as the entire home are all in excellent shape. We had a boat with us and extra kayaks. The water entry is great and easy to use. The kitchen is well appointed and my absolute favorite thing was we had a empty cabinets to store our food. We take all of our meals with us. We drove to the beach once and then realized it is really an easy stroll so from then on, we walked every time. One of the great things was the beach is maybe a mile (not real certain) north of the pier and we didn't have any crowds. We had so much fun just hanging at the house and going to the beach, but when you add our boating excursions in the sound and our cookout on the beach, it could not get any better. We had so much to do that the TV was only on once - to see Baylor win! Surf City and area AND this home is a definite for a revisit for us. Our problem is I leave a good review, then we have problems rebooking!!

Every vacation house should be this enjoyable!
This is the perfect beach/vacation house. Very clean. Super comfortable living room. Spacious kitchen. More than enough rooms for our families. The cargo lift came in handy when moving our heavy cooler up and down. The dock was long enough for our 28-foot boat and we did some crabbing off the dock as well. Kayaks were great. So relaxing just cruising down the canal. Beach is just a short walk down the street. Dawson was very responsive to our every need. We love this house and are thinking about renting again next summer!

Great location in canal, brought our jet ski and rented large pontoon boat and was able to tie both up to dock with plenty of room. Launching jet ski was quick and easy as private boat ramp right on property.
Kids enjoyed jumping off dock to swim and fish.
House was equipped with everything you need. Plenty of room for large family.

This beautiful home was perfect for our annual family vacation. My sisters and I have been coming to Topsail with our families for years. As our family has grown...so has the need for a bigger vacation home. This home met all of our needs! The large kitchen was perfect for our evening family meals and was stocked with everything we needed. The inside was spacious enough that everyone could spread out and have their own space. The outside and dock area was so enjoyable too. More then enough room for our large family and two boats! The homeowner was great to work with and I would highly recommend this vacation home!

Perfect vacation house!
My family had a wonderful time during our week of vacation! The house was fabulous with everything we needed! The interior was very nice and comfortable, and the layout was perfect for kids and adults to have their own space. The dock on the canal was great for fishing, swimming, and docking our boat, and the walk to the beach was a brief straight-shot. We also utilized the kayaks quite a bit, which was an added bonus! I anticipate returning next year and would highly recommend it to anyone else!
