The building is truly authentic and the location central. I was also told by locals that the food is good there but I did not try myself.
At arrival, they gave us the option to park the car in the parking so they gave us a sticker for the car. We did so for 20 minutes while we unloaded the car, then left with the car. We did not return the sticker as we did not think the sticker was such a big deal. That same evening we said we did not want to use the parking, we would park outside, felt safe. At no point did they say "if you do not return the sticker we will charge you for the hotel parking". The next day we also did not use the parking nor did we the night. The following day, at checkout, they charged us 200x2=400 pesos for 2 days of parking. It was because we had kept the sticker, therefore kept "the option" of using the parking. The parking people (which is simply an affiliated business, not owned by the hotel) told us that they do not actually reserve the spot for 2 days, they use it.
We told them we did not want to pay, they called the police, 5 police officers and a couple police cars arrived, guns ablazing (although kind people, but scary situation) and they mediated as if we were in court. Oh and they did not want to let my friend walk out of the hotel with her luggage, receptionist/owner got in front of her and I think to remember was stopping the luggage with a hand, something like that. Unnecessary since we were many and were far from finished loading the car, not fleeing. It was a ridiculous way to loose clients over 400 pesos. They ruined the overall good experience we had had so far.

Great location right by the zocalo. We also really enjoyed having the patio space to sit out on and the rooftop which had a view of the city. The corridors were also outfitted with really interesting and charming decor. The bed was large and the room felt spacious. We really liked how large the shower was. The staff was also really helpful, though not everyone spoke English.
Having to pay cash upon arrival for the room. I didn't like carrying a large amount of cash around, or having bank fees to take it out, so be aware of this if you're staying for a while. The toilet in our room was also a bit weirdly situated and didn't have the most effective flush. But a minor issue. Overall we were really happy with the property!

The staff were great and the facility was well maintained and clean.
It was VERY noisy. There was a constant roar of traffic on the adjacent street... and... the laundry was below our room (13) so whenever the equipment was in use we heard it in our room... even in the middle of the night!
