The location 15 minute drive outside Mindo township makes for a stunning and peaceful position in the mountains. (Drive is doable by small sedan on the gravel road).
I opted for this lodge due to the birdlife and I was blown away in the first day, seeing toucans, toucanets, aracari, hundreds of hummingbirds and many more bird species.
My room was decent size, clean, comfortable bed and hot water. Plus great Wi-Fi too.
The restaurant offers delicious meals so you won’t go hungry. And the staff are very friendly.
I stayed three nights, however wished I stay for a week.
Highly recommended.

Amazing place for birdwatching, they don’t advertise themselves as a birding lodge but they might as well be one. Very friendly service and they could accommodate dietary restrictions like gluten free. High speed starlink internet available at the main building. The cabana was beautiful and clean with plenty of natural light and forest views.

Very good experience! The stuffs are so nice and professional. We drove there but no any idea about the off road condition and worry about the two days stay. They told us there is only 20 mins walking distance to the table car, very nice trails on the other side of the mountain, couple waterfalls. They also help to call taxi to the town for the chocolate tour which taxi only cost $5 one way. The breakfast is well done with eggs, fruits, fresh juice, coffee… thank you so much for the professional service!

The room itself is nice, the view is amazing. The girl who was working there is very helpful and kind.
I know everyone is so enthusiastic about this hotel and somehow I understand why. I booked 3 nights but only stayed 2 at the end. The first night I didn't feel anything but after the 2nd night my whole leg was full with bites from bedbugs! Since I first wanted to check if that's a bedbug I really searched the whole bed and found the bedbug! I told the girl this and she was helpfull. She did my laundry and cleaned the room and I could get another room. Even the upgrade. Once I came there (before accepting) that bed was even worse. All kind of stains in the sheets. Lots of black spots. Decided to take the room next to me but I didn't really check until the evening. I still saw many black spots and a shelf of the bedbug.
They don't clean all the sheets everytime! I decided to leave and wanted the money back from the last night. The owner was very arrogant and said; i will give you the money back. But we are in the nature, so bedbugs are normal! He is not planning to take any actions against these animals.
I would not even stay here for free.
