They could do better!

We liked the proximity to the ocean. The beds were comfortable and clean. We were allowed to bring our 2 small dogs with us.

Kitchen was small, outdated, and right in the pathway to the bathroom. The can opener barely worked, there were only 3 forks, and the rest of the utensils were a mad jumble. 1 small teflon skillet that I refused to cook in because the nonstick was very scratched and flaking off( we had to purchase one). No dish detergent. The oven door didn't stay open on it's own or close all the way. Only 3 washcloths for 3 people and a 3 day stay. 1 of the bed covers that was in the closet had not been washed and smelled( like a dirty pet bed). The screen door had no latch and slammed everytime you went in or out and we had to close the main door everytime to keep our dogs from escaping. The shower head had been taped with electrical tape and tore up our second day there( a repairman had to come and install a knew one). The repairman was very quick to show up and get it fixed though. We managed with what we had and did have a good time in spite of our accommodations. I just felt like it was overpriced for the condition of the house.

It was very damp and cold in there. Spoke to property mgr and she said that they had been getting a lot of complaints about that problem and she said to leave air conditioners on for awhile. Told her that we had them on 4 hours and it was just getting damper. We couldnt even sit on the fabric couch because it felt so wet. Also found some cockroaches. She asked us if we wanted a refund. we said yes. She said she would call the owner (who lives in Florida) and calll us back. She called back and said owner would not refund. I asked her then to get us a dehumidifier to dry the place out. She said her husband would bring one. Then she called back again and said that the owner wont let her do that. I asked her what our options were. She said that an air conditioning guy would come by tomorrow and check the units and also a Terminix guy for the roaches. I then asked her what to do for tonite because we were so cold and damp. She said to open the windows and door. Told her we tried that but windows wont open and we had the screen door open but it was not safe since door doesnt even close. There was basically nothing to be done for us. The unit was more comfortable the next day as we kept the air conditioning units off. Her husband came by the next day and I assume sprayed for bugs. Left the day after that and the unit was actually warming up. The kitchen cupboards were just an ancient (not working) refrigerator unit under the counter. It said no pets in the contract and both units above us had large dogs who we could hear going back and forth and one dog was baying while the owner was out. Dont think this place should be listed in Booking.com. Property Manager really tried to be helpful but owner is obviously doesnt care. There was an added 171.00 cleaning fee and a 20.00 per day service fee added to the posted price which I didnt ever see until I paid.

Will not stay there again…. Place needs some maintenance and an area to relax outside

Location was great. Easy access to the ocean. The size was fine, just as expected…. Didn’t mind the look of the place. It is an older decor, but that’s ok. We knew that when we rented it.

The blinds were broken and mildew on the shower curtain…. No dish soap, extra garbage bags or extra Toliet Paper (however when I called these things were taken care of. No router for the TV in our unit, so each time the tv went out, had to call the property office so they could contact another unit to restart the router. The front storm door did not shut or log, and it was a white door, but black stains (possible moldy) The front window is moisture filled so you can’t really see out. The mildew smell is very strong. Needed air fresheners and scented candles ( which we supplied) Could only find two outdoor chairs to sit on, the rest were broken. All the beach equipment in the unit were filled with sand or the one beach chair was rusty… (they did bring us two new beach chairs. The bedroom air conditioner was a portable on with a tube going outside, so couldn’t get fresh air. Really no outside area to hang out on the lower unit, upper units had decks and furniture to be able to sit out.

OK but I'll probably never visit emerald isle again because it was just not to pleasant.

Location was good.

Could not use grill because the family above us hung their nasty underwear and shorts all over our grill and window ledge not to mention our front door step. We rinsed the salt water off our son's shoes and left them out to dry, they where thrown out into the yard. Interior carpet had been shampooed but not allowed to dry and the smell was really bad. Other then that it was OK. Property manager was very nice.

Nice getaway

The location was perfect, beds and bedding were very comfortable and great living room with slight views of ocean.

The drain from the gutters on the back of the house by the bedroom was missing the down pipe and it rained several nights and all you heard all night was the run off hitting the walkway hard all night!
