Disastrous

Unfortunatelly the whole experience was bad. I even contacted the property owner but didn't get any answer.

The room was not clean the room smelled like dry piss, underneath the bed was a complete mess, you can see no one had cleaned it for months, the 2nd-floor bathroom was not clean, the kitchen appliances were not properly cleaned, you can see the trail of whatever they used to clean it in the appliances. There were food leftovers on the living room shelf, the kitchen doesn't have proper cutlery, plates or cups to use and I had to use a cup (a broken one) that was in the dishwasher but it was dirty, even with mould inside of it and the bed cover in room 1 hasn’t been washed. You can feel the mattress springs in the back and a person who was cleaning the property used the kitchen sink to wash the slippers of the house. We had to book and move despite the high monetary cost of doing so. I'm not sure if this is the standard for a 7.4 guesthouse in a city like Vancouver. I contacted the property but until today I haven't had any type of answer.

Everything perfect! Very comfy, clean, spacious and accessible to downtown and transit!!

Very big size definitely matched quality of stay to the price. Recommend!!

According to what I paid, it has exceeded my expectations.

I liked the location, the privacy, and the modern building. The room was well equipped and had a car parking spot and security.

I have concerns about the cleanliness, whether inside the rooms or in the washroom. Additionally, there was never any toilet paper in the washroom.

Budget friendly

Budget friendly. The location was good for me. It is a short walk to the train station, and a bus to the train station stops on the same side of the road a few houses to the easr of the house,. Lots of places to get food near by.. A number of parks within a short walk.

Not so much what I didn't like, but what others may have issues with. Firstly no staff (thus the lower score). You get the door code via bookings.com message, enter and see a sign saying your room is upstairs. Your room number is on bookings.com message.with the key hanging on the door handle. The other thing that may catch westerners off guard is the request not to wear shoes inside past the lobby. (Slippers provided). Having lived in Asia this wasn't an issue for me, but one guest stomped upstairs in his boots. The owner requests guests clean up after themselves, but some people won't, and some kids clothing was left around for days (the cleaner, a nice friendly man,came as I checked out and would have had a bit of work tidying up the downstairs living areas: this is another issue I lowered the overall score on.

Would not recommend

Very dirty, didn’t look like pictures at all, home is run down, staff kicked us out of the bathroom to clean although after it still looked dirty. Not sanitary

Considering the pros and cons, my impressions lean 60/50 in favor of the positive, mainly due to the favorable price

1) A large and modern television with all streaming services on board. 2) Clean and freshly laundered bed linen. 3) Pretty comfortable bed. 4) The presence of a small refrigerator right in the room. 5) A clean toilet and bath. 6) A large wardrobe with plenty of hangers.

1) We asked if there was a microwave in the room, and we were told - yes. However, when we opened it, we were shocked because it was so dirty inside that mold had grown, indicating that it hadn't been cleaned for a long time. Therefore, we couldn't heat our food. 2) Until 12:40 AM, there was an old man wandering around the entire building, creating a lot of noise. He was flipping some metal objects in the kitchen, then went to the bathroom about ten times, always loudly slamming the door behind him. Moreover, he shouted something a few times, which made us feel unsafe. 3) There was a lot of dust on the shelves and cobwebs on the ceiling in the bathroom. Yes, it's not critical, but it doesn't take much time and effort to clean it up.

A good overnight stop

It was easy to find and get settled in. The room was nice and the bed was comfortable.

The room was very warm and there was no way to reduce the heating, luckily the window opened easily so I could cool down a bit.

Fine for a cheap 1 night stay.

Was ideal for what we needed (1 night stay before travelling to the airport the following day). Spacious room and big bed, quiet area.. Smart TV and super fast WiFi. Check in and check out were early and late which is a nice change.

Parking was on street, I'd messaged to confirm this with host and no response. Had also previously asked if there were laundry facilities and I was told there is a laundromat nearby. Arrived and there are laundry facilities... could've saved us a bit of money and time! Kitchen set up was strange as there was a shower in there, kettle,microwave and toaster was in the hallway and fridge downstairs. Limited cooking facilities., but again cheap and fine for our 1 night stay. No hand towels in bathroom. This place has a lot of potential!

Hostel vibe for one night

Self check in/check out. Communication with host. Mini fridge, microwave and mugs in the room. Clean room.

House a bit confusing to navigate with the many rooms and the multiuse room. No bath towels provided. Not so clean common kitchen/laundry room.

Good location and clean, but other guests were rude.

The location was good, accessible to transit and restaurants. The room was good and clean.

There was a guest (not sure who?) who was being really loud in the “kitchen” area at midnight. They were yelling and swearing. It seemed like they were purposely throwing bowls and utensils on the ground and the sink. It was alarming and made us uncomfortable.

The price and location are ok if you are in Vancouver for a quick visit or transit to somewhere else…

The room is in a very messy house…and the share bathroom can be busy for long time in the morning because is one for couple rooms …

Average place, a bit expensive for what it is. We had better experiences with hosts for same or less price.

Uncomfortable bed. We felt the bed springs. Bathroom is not clean and house is untidy. Miscommunication for check in, they sent us the wrong address and not very nice on the phone.

Very disappointing and wished we had taken photos to back up review

Not much at all that we liked

Kitchen is a combined with a laundry and computer facilities and is inconvenient. There was no where to sit and eat other than in bedroom.An outdoor patio could be utilised into a really nice area if owner removed all the rubbish e.g. old bed pillows etc and put a table and 6 chairs there. The garden is neglected.

Comfortable accommodation, well priced, well appointed, clean

Larger than expected, really clean and comfortable. Free water and coffee which is awesome. Was comfortable, easy to enter and work TV etc. Very straight forward, fast and hassle free

The front door number was initially hard to find in the dark at night so maybe add a better number or something to make it easier to identify the property at night

Easy to find clear instructions for door code, neat and tidy.

The sink strainer in the bathroom sink was gummed up with dust and stuff so the sink doesn't drain well. I tried to clear it but couldn't find a brush or suitable cloth to clear it. Maybe a strainer with a bit less fine mesh would be better

Probably a well-priced choice for a longer stay

As you can see from the "cleaning fee" this is rather an AirBnB than a hotel room for one night - e.g. before you leave or after you arrive at YVR. Check-In instructions and information worked well. If one guest (couple) uses the kitchen there is not much space for a new guest who has just arrived and doesn't know the dos and don'ts yet. Good moskito net at the veranda entrance prevents visits of unwanted insects. Be prepared to eat at the mini table squeezed in your room just outside the bathroom because there are only 2 couch-like seats in the common area.

The veranda is more like a junk yard and there are no chairs (except that totally wrecked one in the rear garden (which is most likely not for guests). So the existing (long-time?) guests were chatting while standing outside the entrance while I took a seat on some kind of a ladder which I found in the junk yard (terrace / veranda) to enjoy the nice breeze of the evening.

Lovely place! Far enough away to be quiet and peaceful.

Too dark in the hallway when you need to go to bathroom especially during late nights, but just a minor issue if someone is afraid of the dark.

Pleasant

Jamie(his English name) was a nice guy and will pick up/ drop off from airport/cruise terminal cheaper than a taxi. (He needs to translate most things in English) Room was clean.

Its in the burbs and nothing much around. No decent eateries nearby. Pretty basic facilities in the house. Not sure who Lily is. Never saw or heard of her.

First time using booking.com and the results were good

I like The price and I was able to book the last minute. I'm in the middle of changing from one apartment I sold to the new apartment which I have not found.

Everything was fine except I noticed there was a little disrepair in the bathroom. In the shower stall. If I were staying more than just one night I'd offer to fix. I have talent in this area. I was disappointed that I didn't get a chance to find room in the schedule for weekly or monthly stay. That would have being a great location

Get what you pay for I guess

The room wasn’t as clean as I am comfortable with. I had to clean the window sills as needed to air out room. The microwave wasnt very clean & the walls needed spot cleaning. The bedding was rough & uncomfortable.

Great value with a private room and everything one would need. A good location. About 20 minute drive/UBER downtown and 10 minute walk to public transportation.

Shower was a bit confusing to use. The shared bathroom and living room was not ideal but expected with the living arrangement and price.
