Beautiful, spacious, afforable stay with a few rough outer edges. Would recommend and will plan another stay here for a

- Really cool elevator! - Lots of personal and private space. - Really well kept historical architecture inside! - Surprisingly comfortable bed. Best hotel sleep I’ve had to be honest. - Complimentary items (wine, earplugs, etc). - Host offered to and took the time to show us the unit before we signed and paid the deposit.

- Check-in process was a little unclear. We selected a check-in time on the app that didn’t seem to transfer so there was mild confusion. Make sure to call upon arrival to ask for check-in guidance and you’ll be set. - There are a number of people experiencing homelessness who hung out near the entrances at the front and back of the building, but nothing of note occurred. - Check out time is a little early at 9am and was a little unclear. Played it safe and left keys in unit and took out trash to be safe. - Wi-fi connection difficulties on the 4th floors, but this was seen in prior reviews so we weren’t surprised/didn’t mind.

Would have givent 10/10 unless the deposit mishap. That was stressful.

Amazig room. One of my fav places I stayed in. Beautiful old buildig, cool view, such old awesome elevator.

There was issue w deposit which normally I dont even have to do at other hotels. Maybe it was Visas fault vut didnt get back for almost 3 weeks to a point I was wodering if I was being scammed.

Due to booking.coms error we had been overbooked in the hotel. Unacceptable!

Wonderful host and hostess...wonderful historical building and so much history in this area. An original elevator, a quaint kitchen complete with a cast iron sink, an historical claw foot tub and historical toilet, dining room with vintage china and silverware, beautiful bay windows and the original exterior fire escape railings. Our host and hostess were a wealth of information and were so interesting. And very accomodating.

Booking.com was our biggest problem. They had booked us in for two nights and the second night was not available. Our host and hostess at the hotel were very frustrated and were able to find us accomodation in their home. Beware of booking.com Apparently they do this often!

A new adventure....

I liked feeling like your stepping into history and that is was different that staying in a regular boring hotel.

Needed more blankets for room and a sheet for sofa bed. Needed to be a little more comfortable for sleeping. Only other thing is price was different for three people or two people in same style of room on website was there a difference? Maybe find a way to plug in one thing in the bathroom.

Classic Vibes, close to the ocean, the view. Friendly staff.

No air conditioning it was too damn hot especially being in the top of the building. Elevetor feels about to give up. Parking area was closeby to the homeless. The windows has no protective screen so watch out if you have kids. Too expensive for its 300 charge a night.

A step back into another era.

I loved getting a tour from the owner of the hotel. Myrna was a very sweet lady and you could tell she was proud of her business. I loved hearing the stories and the history that went along with the hotel. The place itself was so intriguing. I loved how entering into the hotel felt like stepping back in time, especially with the original elevator still in working business. We only stayed for one night but it was an experience we will never forget. It was also extremely close to the sky train (it was basically across the street from the back door of the hotel) so it was easy to get to the airport the following day. Myrna even accommodated to give us a late checkout as our flight didn’t leave till later in the day. Overall a memorable experience and a fun adventure.

The only thing I didn’t like is that there were mice. This might have just been something specific to our room or the time of year, but they only came out at night and we only saw one. The owners were aware and had set traps, but it’s to be expected in such an old building.
