About this house rental
Located in North Captiva Island, this attractive house for $850 per night is a great option for your next trip. House, 3 bedrooms - 3 full bath. Our renovated home is named "Windows on the Water" because of the spectacular wall of windows facing a pristine, white sandy beach and Captiva Pass. Relax inside or outside on your very own beach, and enjoy views of Cayo Costa Island, sailboats and wildlife including pelicans, manatees and more! 3 bedrooms, 3 full baths. WOW offers two master suites, each with a king bed and ensuite full bathroom. The third bedroom has 2 low-rise bunk beds, perfect for young children and teens. The third full bathroom with a bathtub/shower is just off the bunk room. Windows on the Water is located on the northern tip of the island called Rum Point. We are on the beach and also adjacent to 4 acres of private, undeveloped land which makes our home feel peaceful and secluded. We provide beach chairs and lounges, outdoor and indoor games. The house is outfitted with stainless steel appliances, Starlink wifi, 4 wall-mounted flat screen televisions, and a full size washer & dryer. There is a propane grill outside for your use. An Island Club guest membership is included with your booking. This offers your entire group free bicycle, paddle board, and kayak use, as well as access to 2 swimming pools. North Captiva island is perfect for you if you're looking for a one of a kind experience. This is a special island that can be accessed only by boat or plane. Ferries to and from the island run throughout the day. North Captiva has no cars, only sandy trails and golf carts! There are public beaches. However with your own private beach you probably won't feel the need to leave the house! There are two restaurants, a convenience store, guided fishing and boating tours, boat rentals, grocery delivery service, and more. Renting a beachfront home offers you so much more than an amazing view, you will have the extra privacy and convenience of having your very own beach. You can unplug (or unplug your kids!), enjoy the beach, and take a walk on one of the nature trails in the Federal Wildlife Preserve. A golf cart is not included with this rental, however you can easily book one. The house limit is 8 people, including infants. Sorry, no pets. Please email with any questions. W.O.W. is the perfect description for this house! I felt my breath catch in my throat as I stepped in the door! The beauty through the windows gives you a sense of never leaving the outdoors. Watching the sunset and the moon rise, dolphins gracefully going by as you eat lunch, the birds fishing for breakfast as you sip coffee, the quiet privacy. It's just spectacular! The house was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Book your reservations today, there are no regrets.

This was by far our most favorite family vacation to date! We enjoyed the slower, quiet days on the island, starting with having our coffee while looking out through the windows at the ocean. My kids loved to look for shells, as you can walk both ways on their beach. They played ping pong daily down on their outdoor porch area under the home, and my daughter loved reading her book on the hammock. The home had everything we needed, with the view being our most favorite! Wendy was wonderful to work with. We hope to be back again next year!

As soon as we arrived to the island it felt amazing the house was a 5 minute drive from the ferry dock and when we got to the house it was beautiful. The views were incredible, the house was in perfect conditions and was equipped with everything necessary.

W.O.W. is all you need to know. Sorry we had to go back to reality. Only thing that would make W.O.W. better is a microphone to bring the ocean sounds inside!

Just loved this property it was perfect for my family. My spot was in the small chair in front of one of the 7 big windows and enjoyed seeing so many manatees and dolphins plus sting rays. The property had a lot of items that you don't think of like spices for cooking. Would recommend this property because the view is awesome.

This was our first time staying on the island and it was amazing! We enjoyed every second and did not want to leave. The house was as expected with great views of the water where we saw dolphins and manatees. We ate empanadas at a nearby stand. It was the perfect getaway for our two families.

We recently stayed at this house for a week. It was very comfortable and the views were amazing. It really does look just as good in real life as in the pictures! Beds and linen were very comfortable. Had everything we needed to make ourselves at home. Water pressure in showers was also really good. Would love to go again, especially after the island heals itself some more. Hope to come again :)

Place was just as advertised. Location was amazing at the north tip of North Captiva. On a dead end so almost no traffic or noise. Home was in great shape with nice bathrooms, cute 4-bunk room, and great kitchen/dining area. Owner was super quick responding to messages, usually within minutes. Would definitely stay again.

Windows on the Water is a gorgeous house in a beautiful, quiet location directly on the beach. It was a relaxing week and we felt like we had the beach all to ourself. North Captiva is recovering, and although there was a ton of repair work and debris collection in progress, it didn’t interfere with our stay. The owner was very responsive as was the staff at the Island Club. The house had everything we needed for a great week and enjoyable vacation.

This property is one of my favorites from all our travels. The view is awesome! The home was nice we have no complaints. We saw so much marina life from the home. The shells are endless on the beach. We could not have asked for more.

Amazing Hidden Gem
This is a prime example of why home rentals are so great. Unbelievable hidden gem on North Captiva. Pictures are as advertised. Amazing first beach vacation for our 15 month old who went in water, played in sand, experienced necah life at its finest. As a parent, the island is safe, and you can enjoy yourself with no cars on island. Wendy was probably the best host I’ve had pleasure of dealing with always quick to respond. Logistics take some planning, but we used Debbie with fresh pick groceries, rented a boat through boats and fun to take a day trib to cabbage key and experience life on water. We got to see dolphins, manatees, and birds daily. And even do a gator! Over on cayo Costa during our boat trip. Fun part of traveling and exploring is just that exploring, but this is a place we will definitely be back.

We have been vacationing on North Captiva for nearly 20 years and have stayed at many of the homes affiliated with both Safety Harbor Club (SHC) and North Captiva Island Club (NCIC). No home has been more well stocked, with more thoughtful conveniences, with better interior design and decoration and functional layout and efficient use of space, or with a better view/location on the island, than Windows-On-Water (WOW). The owner really did a phenomenal job – there simply wasn’t anything that wasn’t thought of ahead of our stay on the island, and when NCIC provided the wrong golf cart, and the owner’s golf cart subsequently wouldn’t charge, she was very responsive. Unfortunately, two loaners provided by NCIC in the interim did not work, and we were stranded on the other side of the island once as a result. Incredibly, when we called the office and were put through to the most sr. manager of NCIC (“BB”) and requested a pickup to avoid a sweaty, humid, hourlong walk across the island with young kids, his (exact) response was: “I’m kinda busy right now. I have a big party coming in.” He hung up and didn’t call back, although we tried several times. NCap is not meant to be like a stay at the Ritz – this is the reason we’ve always come here (amazing fishing, shelling, beach walks, friendly islanders, natural seclusion). But BB was rude, unprofessional, and such treatment, inexcusable. We’ll probably never return (at least not to NCIC). In stark contrast, our meals at Over the Waterfront were amazing: easily the best food on the island (of course, affiliated with SHC, not NCIC … Dave is a first class chef … make your reservations before coming on island!) Lastly, the NCIC ferry out of St. James city to the island was the worst we’d ever had. First, the shuttle was ten minutes late because the driver broke the door being rough with it. Then the boat left an additional 10 minutes late AFTER the driver kept throwing the food to the people on the ferry and finally dropped/ruined a case of Sprite. Finally, the captain turned the boat around 10 min. later (no apology) to bring the restaurant waitress back because she didn’t want to get blamed for the dropped drinks. The shuttle driver laughed about this the entire way over to the island, and then obnoxiously repeated for the whole ferry ride, “I didn’t drop it. I didn’t do nothin’. No, not me. Ha ha ha.” WOW & Over the Waterfront were amazing. NCIC was horrible. Take Island Girl ferry instead.

WOW is a wonderful place to stay. The design, furnishings, location are all awesome. Wendy and her husband have thought of every detail to make your stay incredible. So many times we would just sit, relax, and watch the beautiful blue water filled with sea life- manatees, dolphins, birds, etc- a million dollar view!!
Wendy was so quick to respond to any question. Cannot wait to stay there again. Definitely a 5 Star plus plus! Highly recommend this place!

They have reverse osmosis. When we arrived, the washer was broken but it was fixed by midweek so we were fine. We had an issue with the Island Club cleaning staff taking the beach towels to wash and not returning them but we went up and got some the next day. Wendy offered for me to purchase some at one of the stores and planned to reimburse but it wasn’t necessary. She was great about answering any questions we had as well. We saw dolphins and manatee swim by the house every single day. Would definitely recommend this beautiful home with the best views on the island.

Of course there was no one at the pool at that time and we capitalized on the lack of people. Of course it wasn’t lightning during that time. Views are just as pictured. Pictures are exactly as shown. We explored the state park. Walked to southern tip and back (9-10miles round trip). I have a lower rating for the cleanliness bc the master bath definitely needs new grout and some touching up in the sink area. We had two adults and four kids, ages 11, 13, 15, & 16. We would definitely return. Wendy was amazing and responded timely. Reception is spotty so communication can be challenging at times. I can’t say enough about this place.
