Hotel Hilton Harlingen Texas

Staff was great, no issues other than you can't bring your own food in the restaurant area, great location near town, and a lot of restaurants.

No free breakfast, you pay into a Hilton hotel expecting anything more than basic motel amenities, did try the food for dinner at the restaurant, the waiter was great but the food was very disappointing for the quality I've experienced before. My friends room was good but in my room alone the mini fridge wasn't plugged into the socket so I connected and then it didn't even work properly to where I had to throw away food the following morning thinking it would've worked, it also leaked water all over the floor and storage cabinet it was in when I plugged it in. The sink from the bathroom was leaking into the floor where it connected to the wall in the bathroom as well. The dual sliding glass door for the shower wasn't on its railing properly and would slide open during a shower causing water and soap to get everywhere. The "complimentary" soaps and lotion was not replaced when I came, it was just refilled which is unsanitary, you would think that in this post-COVID19 world that a higher end hotel would try to stay sanitary. There was also an issue where the light in the bathroom kept turning on when ever there was a slight bump from either the upstairs or side neighbors which happened at all hours of the night.

The hotel was beautiful honestly it WOULD have been our first time staying in a hotel with our kids as a family

We didn’t stay because there was an error on the booking dates. We arrived at the hotel and they said they would help us and refund us to stay on the correct days but we would have to pay again. So we decided not too because honestly we didn’t have enough money too book again. I called booking and they said they would process the refund if and only if the hotel accepted to refund to which I was happy because the property manager said they would refund. At the end the hotel decided not to refund and I begged them to refund to understand us that it was an honest mistake but they decided not to… to top it off later that day they towed our family car to which we had to pay $400 to get it back we had a parking permit but they didn’t see it and they still charged us and didn’t care. I explained in a voicemail to the hotel and I guess they didn’t care. To me that is poor customer service poor understanding to the customer. It is such a beautiful hotel but I zero definitely not recommend this hotel and never will I ever book with them!

Pretty place with helpful staff.

Pretty and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

The room smelled like urine!! It was a very very strong disgusting smell. The staff were very helpful and gave us another room that didn’t smell nearly as strong. The staff believe that the smell was from one of the cleaning supplies they use.

Great facilities. Poor training of the employees.

The facility was very clean. I liked how accommodating they were when it came to supplies. I especially liked that they had a snack area in the lobby.

I literally got charged twice, despite showing the staff the receipt from my first payment. There were 3 different people I spoke to who promised to resolve this issue, but when I spoke to the next person (at the given time they said it would be fixed), I got a "Literally nobody told me about that." Which, already, my card getting double charged was a hassle, but having to explain the situation multiple times for it to yield no result makes it even worse. To this day, I have yet to receive a refund, and it's been over a month, even after bringing it up to multiple individuals working the desk, it still wasn't fixed.

The location

The breakfast wasn't free and I was unaware. A staff member was quick to inform me about it. She was over protective of the free coffee station and told me inflation was the reason the breakfast wasn't free anymore. I was very disappointed and embarrassed. The only reason I stay at Hilton is for the breakfast. The beds were very uncomfortable and so were the pillows.
