We were looking for a place where we could hear the waves, but also have some quiet times. This house gave us exactly that! Communication with the property manager was perfect. To have some starter items here (TP, paper towels, dish detergent, trash bags) was a priceless convenience. I recommend Blue Skies for pure and simple relax time!

This property was the perfect size for my family of 6 and in-laws. The open floor plan helped us not feel cramped and the closeness to the beach was amazing! Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time at Blue Skies and also rented the other half of the duplex as well. Blue skies is perfectly located a block from the beach. The house was stocked with kitchenwares and laundry facilities. It was odd to have a bag delivered with our bed sheets but at the same time, sealed in plastic, I knew they were clean, just had to make the beds. I will say if you do get cold at night bring an extra blanket! Overall, Blue Skies was perfectly located to the beach, a nice park, close to the quaint town of Southport and not too far from Wilmington. I would definitely rent this property again. Thank you for allowing us to stay and make memories.

Nice house, nice location, the listing about 50 steps to thd beach is not accurate at all, way more than that. The outdoor space is not very well kept. There are tons of rusty nails sticking out of the deck at the head of the driveway and the boards are really loose, one came off while I was rinsing sand from my feet and I fell over. There should be a few outdoor loungers instead of just ratty ole patio chairs. The laundry service is a bit weird with a bag of sheets on the deck, who knows how long they sit there and get lovely palmetto bugs in the bags. The bags of dirty linnens from the renters before us sat in front of our door the whole week. Then when we lft our bags of linnens were there, I'm hoping they don't stay there for the next rrnters another week. Speaking of laundry, the owners should provide at least one clothes basket for personal laundry. All in all we did have a great vacation at the beach and with a few minor tweaks this unit could go from average to outstanding, until then it stands as just an ok place to stay.

This property is ideally located and overall very comfortable. It would be enhanced tremendously by the addition of a dining table on the deck and a better cleaning service. The floors were filthy. We put our one year old grandson down and his hands, knees and feet were black in a few minutes!

We all had a great trip! All 4 kids and our dog! The kids ages are 15,16,18, 21. They all really enjoyed the beach house and oak island! We will be back! Thank you!

The pictures of the inside accurately depict the cleanliness of the home. It had everything needed to make the stay comfortable. The location was great too, with a short walk to the beach. I loved how you could hear the ocean from the front porch.

We gathered the whole family in two houses for a new Christmas tradition. It was amazing. This house is well priced and very close to the beach. It was clean, lights were well marked, porch was perfect for sitting on every day. Lots of runners and traffic to wave at. Just felt like home away from home. Had 2 different neighbors, both were awesome families with young kids. In sum, we loved this house and this trip. Worth every cent.

The property is very nice, however there were a few issues. The fan in the living room has a broken blade. We could not get the electrical outlets in the bathrooms to work. And I would like to suggest an exterminator as we seen a few bugs. All in all we would rent again.

Clean and close to the beach. Not a lot of storage space to unpack, but plenty of beds and room. Outlets did not work in the bathrooms so we had to get creative when drying hair. We could have used a full size broom to help keep sand down. Not a ton of privacy from your neighbors. Kitchen was pretty well stocked. The room with. 2 queens could use a ceiling fan. Overall and excellent stay. Steps from the beach!

We had a great time celebrating the 4th at Blue skies! They really thought of everything to make our stay pleasant. The house is beautiful and only minutes from the beach. Jamie is a great host who promptly got back to us and made sure we had what we needed. We hope to be back!
