About this house rental
Located in Atlantic Beach, this lovely house for $558 per night is a great option for your next trip. 6 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, sleeps 12 - 14, 4 night minimum, WiFi, and Roku TVs. GG's cottage was built in 1936 and has undergone recent major renovations with more improvements planned. It's a wonderful place with options for relaxing: on the large covered porch with privacy walls, ocean view, ceiling fans, nice breeze, lots of comfortable outdoor seating, and a picnic table; or relax on the beach with direct access using private pathway from porch; or on the private boardwalk with benches and chairs to enjoy full sun and umbrella available if preferred; or in the spacious living room with ocean views, Wi Fi, and smart / Roku TV. There is an outdoor enclosed shower with hot and cold water. The cottage has lots of space inside: MAIN FLOOR has a large entry foyer and large main bathroom with tub & shower combo; kitchen off the foyer with large refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster, coffee makers (drip & Keurig), plenty of cooking supplies; large dining room with plenty of chairs, even a second drop-leaf table if needed; spacious living room with Smart Roku TV and DVD, games, books, & puzzles; 2 bedrooms: 1 ocean front bedroom with queen bed; 1 double bedroom also with a double-size futon; UPPER FLOOR has 1 queen bedroom with half bathroom, 1 double bedroom, and 2 rooms with 2 twin beds each; and full bathroom at end of hall, accessible to all. Walking, biking, or short driving distance to activities at each end of E. Boardwalk Blvd or nearby on the island: Atlantic Beach Circle with many activities and shops (.2 mi) , Island Grill (also has large beachfront venue for weddings and events) (.4 mi), Oceanana Restaurant & fishing pier (1 mi), Tackle Box Tavern (.1 mi), Amos Mosquitos Restaurant (.9 mi), Table 9 Restaurant & Oyster Bar (1.2 mi), Crab's Claw Oceanfront Caribbean Seafood Restaurant (.2 mi), beach shops, brewery, and much more. And if you love shrimp burgers and oyster burgers, try Big Oak drive-in at Salter Path (8 mi) or El's drive-in at Morehead City (3 mi). There are many other great restaurants and activities in the area. Also of interest: the NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores (5 mi), the Fort Macon Museum (2 mi), and Atlantic Beach Town Park with playground, water park, skate park, & mini golf (1 mi), all located on the island. Surfing lessons are offered at Marshes Surf Shop on the Causeway (1 mi). Several nearby ferry services such as Morehead City Ferry (2.5 mi) to Sand Dollar Island, ferry from Harker's Island (22 mi) to Shackleford Banks or Cape Lookout (in top 10 beaches by National Geographic), Rachel Carson Reserve, and other islands, as well as dinner and adventure tours. Olympus Dive Center is located in Morehead City (3 mi). Historic Beaufort on the waterfront is a short drive away with lots of shops and restaurants (6.8 mi). There are also many great restaurants, shops, and things to see in Morehead City and Beaufort. The opportunities for fun and activities are endless!! Perfect location on beach walking distance to restaurants, shops, seafood and farmers market. House well equipped, clean, comfortable for a group of 12 with great outdoor living space. Had a wonderful time!

We loved the location, the house was pretty nice and porch facing the ocean was fabulous! One of bedrooms did not have a queen bed as advertised and another had only a futon not a futon+ full as shown in picture. The AC never got below 75 degrees on first floor while there. The owner had someone come out and look at AC but I never heard the result. Also, the houise was not ready at 4:00 at it was supposed to be.

Charming beach house!
Loved staying in this very comfortable and historic home. It was so authentic with all the knotty pine walls and ceilings that reminded me of growing up on the beach. The kitchen was great and met all of our cooking needs. The outdoor space is wonderful with lots of seating. It is so convenient to walk to restaurants and shops but at night the street was very quiet. My friends and I had a great vacation! Gina

Beautiful oceanfront house in a great location. Not an isolated get away but shops and stores nearby do not interfere with the beautiful beach. The beach was not crowded and the house has gorgeous views from most rooms. The house is rustic but very well maintained and very nicely decorated. It looks just like the photos. I has an old fashioned kitchen sink and cabinets, but that added to the charm for us.

The house is in a great location! Directly on the beach, near shops and restaurants. We loved the back porch and deck, and spent a lot of time out on them. Slept 8 adults and 3 kids comfortably.

Owner was great and accommodating! House was super unique and adorable. Driveway was a bit smaller than hoped but overall definitely enjoyed our stay!

The property served our group of 8 adults and 5 children very well. The six bedrooms was perfect for all of us. The location was also great. Close to restaurants and fun activities. We did the aquarium and Fort Macon. The grandkids were in the water all the time. This was an area we took our own boys 25 years ago and it was just like we were there. Pat was very responsive if we had any questions. You will truly enjoy your time.

Great the time at the beach...perfect location
The property served our group of 8 adults and 5 children very well. The six bedrooms was perfect for all of us. The location was also great. Close to restaurants and fun activities. We did the aquarium and Fort Macon. The grandkids were in the water all the time. This was an area we took our own boys 25 years ago and it was just like we were there. Pat was very responsive if we had any questions. You will truly enjoy your time.

The house slept a group of 8 adults & 1 toddler very comfortably. The beach view from the porch was fantastic. The house is comfortable and has lots of games for the inevitable rainy day.

First and foremost, I would like to thank Pat Boost, the owner, for her hospitality and dedication to ensure we had a great stay at Gigi's cottage. We had let her know we arrived in town and she said she would let us know when the house was ready. While she wasn't quite done at the check in time, she did allow us to come into the home and unload while she was washing linens and making the beds. As soon as we walked inside we looked straight to the back of the house and saw the emerald green water!!! We went to the back porch to check it out. It was magnificent!! The porch furniture was comfortable. We rent homes every summer and this is the first summer that we actually spent 50% of our time on the port looking at the ocean. We traveled (our family of 2 adults and 3 teens) with another family (friends) of 2 adults and 6 teens. Pat made sure we had everything we needed and encouraged us to take a look around. The town is quaint and walkable and not a huge amount of people...just right. We played at the mini golf course before checking in and were able to walk to near by shops and to get ice cream. We stayed 4 nights in the third week of July 2020.There was adequate beds, but being an older home, we were all trying to figure out what each door lead to and how to get to the stairs. My favorite was the foyer. Pat made it very welcoming and inviting. Pat did share the history of the house dating back to the 1930s. She is the second owner. We did find at times that having only 2 toilets and 2 showers in the house for 13 people was challenging. The outdoor shower isn't enclosed otherwise we would have used it. We did enjoy watching tv on a couple nights, but did have to have people sit on the floor. It looks like Pat has added a new couch and love seat since we have been there. There was enough dining space when people ate on the picnic table. The kitchen is definitely showing it's age. The cabinet doors don't stay shut. I was the only one in the house who knew how to use the portable dishwasher! I would recommend putting directions on that for other people. We felt there was enough cabinets to store our food. Unfortunately during out stay, the fridge broke and the air conditioner was not working properly. We were in constant communication with Pat and her maintenance staff and got portable A/C window units and a new fridge. Six months later and I distinctly remember the view from the back porch and long to return to this house!

The owner was the BEST person with whom to ever do business! We were the first renter after renovation that was LONG OVERDUE. The efforts to make it renter ready were most commendable. The house needed some more touch ups and some more cleaning. We had persons with disabilities and that was a challenging setup for them. We give all praise to the efforts to accommodate us. Otherwise, what was beyond everyone's control, it rained 3 days so we gave up and came home 3 days early.
