Excellent location in a charming village. Excellent host. Simple but comfortable room.

We had an excellent stay at Lazaros Stonehouse. The property is beautifully restored, combining traditional Cypriot architecture with modern comfort. Everything was spotless, the room was comfortable and well-equipped, and the atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing.

When I got to the property I was told to text a WhatsApp number to gain entry. I text the number, no reply, there was another number, I text that, no reply either. I only had data on my phone and I tried calling on WhatsApp but no reply. Luckily I had my work phone so I turned on my data and called the number by phone and the guy answered and let me in. But it was concerning as it was dark and I was a single female. It was frustrating as I had let the hotel know what time I would be arriving. I dropped my bags and headed out for dinner, when I came back there was multiple cockroaches in my room, I text the guy who told me he has no other rooms. By now it was 10pm so I had no choice but to stay at the hotel. The only option he offered me was an aerosol spray to kill the bugs but that was 20 minutes after I text him and I had decided to try and sleep. I got a very restless night sleep. I was not offered any discount, just that the next morning he told me that he'd called the exterminator, but that didn't help me since I was only staying one night. It was really poor service and with nobody on site at the hotel there was nobody to help me. The other problem is you have to have your key in the wall to keep the electricity on, but it makes a big buzzing noise when it is on, I had to charge my phone so I had to keep it on. Luckily I didn't need the ac so I pulled the key out of the electricity at around 3am to try to get some sleep. My room was right by the front door and it was very loud when people were leaving and entering. Also the wall in the bathroom is really thin so I could hear the child crying in the next door room. I think I got about 2 hours sleep. Really disappointing service from the hotel
