This was a lovely house in the middle of the forest, extremely calm and peaceful. In the morning we woke up to the sound of birds and saw monkeys move through the trees while sipping coffee from the terrace. The beach was a bit further than stated in other reviews but was really lovely and the driver who picked us up from Santo Antonio was also a tour guide and arranged lots of things for us to do. There were board games in the house which we enjoyed in the evenings
No wifi. It did not matter so much for us but important to keep in mind for others.

Very unique property. Really by yourself in the rainforest. The terrace is amazing for watching birds and bats (including fruit bats). The house itself is nice. Mari was a great cook and made delicious food. The nearby beach was remote and beautiful. The host was responsive and helpful.
You really are isolated, which is a big positive but also has some downsides. Very dependent on bringing your own water and any food you bring or someone prepares for you. There’s no way to just go out and pick up anything once you’re there since it’s towards the end of a very challenging road—this made things a bit challenging especially for our kids. There were some issues with a functioning shower and electricity. It added to the remote feel but also made things a bit more challenging.

A wonderful , basic cabin located in the arguably the best location on the island . Surrounded by acres of exotic fruit and native forest beyond. Birdlife is prolific. This is a place to stay for birdwatching with flocks of African grey parrots, kingfishers, egrets .. and so much more to see..
Excellent value meals can be brought to your table daily. Freshly caught fish, local grown fruit and rice. No need to cook . It's good quality and great value.
Bring cash for guides and daily, national park entry fees .
The beach is amazing ... REALLY
Ensure you have bought a local sim-card, loaded with data before arriving. Wifi may not work. Also, before arriving, stop at a supermarket and buy sufficient drinking water for your stay. ( 2 litres per person per day minimum ). Bring mosquito spray for your jungle walks and be prepared to rough it .

A tiny and very cozy house nestled between one of the most beautiful forests and beaches I’ve ever seen. Surrounded by the raw power of African nature - trees, birds, animals, and dense forest all around. A truly special place to disconnect and feel deeply connected to nature.
At times there is no electricity, hot water, or mobile/internet coverage - but the stunning surroundings more than make up for it, and you quickly learn to slow down and adapt.
