Location was decent, walking distance to quite a lot of train stations (but not pram-friendly ones if you're bringing kids along). There's a lot of food and shopping options nearby as well, whilst not being overly noisy compared to hot tourist locations like Shibuya and Shinjuku areas. The property is clean and amenities were ample (with the exception of no scissors in the kitchen). There's also a coin washer and luggage storage room, but these come with their own cons as well which I'll elaborate more in the other section.
Luggage storage room: Other guests do not care about the pin access requirement when you're using the luggage storage area, and constantly attempt to barge in while you're arranging your luggage inside. It's a first come first serve basis in which if you come early and you're lucky, you get the spots with 'locks' to secure your luggages from potential thieves. And if you come late, you might need to just shove the luggages inside (guarded by the room's PIN access), or just leave them at the lobby area. My group was arranging our luggages when this group of other guests kept attempting to enter the room, despite us telling them to make their own reservations. They then proceeded to hound us by standing outside the storage room, while making comments in cantonese saying 'they took up all the space, we have no more space!'. We're a group of 3, storing 3 luggages and 2 hand carry bags. Subsequently, they just decided that by standing there and gawking/commenting constantly will magically make space for their luggages as well, and hogged up walking space for my group plus the staff trying to get their tasks done around the area. This could definitely be improved on, but it's also understandable that some travellers do not bring common sense and their brains with them when they travel.
Coin washer: The dryer has a lot of lint in it, and it's abit slow to dry clothes of thicker material like denim. Some users leave their clothes in the washer/dryer for hours and forget about it, but the staff tends to remove them and put them in baskets.
Noise levels: Understandable that Minn Ueno is a hotel that caters for large group travellers and families. However we're unlucky enough to experience entitled people who stayed a floor above us who let their kids run around at 11pm, whilst the adults stomp around in the late hours as well.

Very convenient location. Great apartment size for family of 4. Easy check in, easy check out. Everything we needed was there.

The hotel is in an excellent location, very convenient for exploring Ueno and the surrounding area. The property is clean and has a laundry facility, which is very useful for longer stays.
However, the room was quite dark and, despite being clean and functional, it gave us a somewhat enclosed and cramped feeling. The pillows were also very uncomfortable, which made sleeping less pleasant.
One practical issue is that the reception does not provide coin exchange for the washing machines, which would be helpful for guests using the laundry facilities.
The breakfast was also not particularly suitable for Western guests, with limited options for those looking for a more traditional Western-style breakfast.
