Hotel Riu Madeira - All Inclusive

The breakfast/lunch/dinner buffet was awesome and had a big variety of products, you can eat and drink as much as you want, the breakfast also is served with a coffee on each table, the lunch/dinner are served with table wines (more about them below) The pools were awesome - very clean and there was not a lot of people in August, you could easily swim and enjoy at any time of the day, you also could easily find available sunloungers without any problems, nobody "books" a sunlonger with a towel, it's not allowed, which is great The view from our room was spectacular - I ordered a room with a sea view, the room itself was tidy clean, it had everything that you would need. The check-in/check-out process was smooth The Turkish sauna was awesome, although it was not popular among the guests for some reason The lounge/pool bars were cool, we were able to enjoy a lot of good cocktails and other drinks, also the lounge itself had interesting evening shows in it, like focus-show, dancers, singers, it was fun The facilities themselves were very clean, no litter, no dirt anywhere

The game room was a bit lame, would be nice to have a billiards/pool tables, maybe foosball, other stuff to make it more fun, it was almost always empty. Also there's not too many board games available, could be better The entertainment was OK but there was not enough entertainment for adults in my opinion, the karaoke night was nice but other than that you could add more discos (after 10 pm), maybe quizzes (?), maybe like chess tournaments (?), I think it would be fun The bar options - I love Madeira wine, but it was served only as an appetizer, it could use a bigger glass... I had to order 2 small glasses a lot of times just to be content with it. The canteen - the table wine was good, but not the best, this was a good Portuguese wine (from Setúbal) but it was the cheapest one available, I'm not sure how I feel about it. At least for dinner the wine selection could be better The Kulinarium ("premium restaurant" at the facility which you could only go to once per your stay) was bad, sorry, it was the same buffet food, just better served, it was not an exceptional experience like we expected, also to have the same cheap table wines as in buffet was shocking. It could definitely be better, I would even agree to pay a bit of money for a better wine We were on our honeymoon, I specified it in the request and it was ignored, although I didn't really expect you to do anything about it, nitpicky point

The buffet was good and all inclusive in the true sense as there was something to eat and drink (including alcohol) 24/7

The wine was awful! The drinks were not good. More premium spirits needed!!

The property is beautiful, very nice reception area, pool area and restaurants.

Felt a bit dated. AC in our room wasn’t working properly.
