Absolutely stunning property in a stunning location. Plenty of space for the family, lots of cooking facilities/utensils etc. Lovely patio space to soak up the sun and views, bbq an added bonus. The arrival gift of a lovely buttermilk loaf (baked locally at Reeth), tea, coffee and a small milk was a lovely touch (thank you). Gorgeous village with a community feel, especially the church. The little second-hand book shop across the road was very useful. Although, the supermarkets are around 20 minutes away, most deliver to the address, which was ideal! We also managed to squeeze 2 cars outside the property too, thankfully. All in all, we would definitely love to stay again!
We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay but felt like some recommendations to improve some things should be mentioned. The mattresses weren't the comfiest, unfortunately. We all found them too hard. More drawer space in the bedrooms would've been useful. The WiFi can be a bit spotty and doesn't reach upstairs, a booster may help. The walk-in shower was very slippy when wet, with no handrails for support. My 4 year old slipped and fell as a result. This needs to be looked at for safety reasons. The addition of a non-slip mat would be a lot better. Some notices about the low ceilings would be helpful as the taller members of the family had a lot of bumps on the head by the end of the holiday. Fans in the bedrooms would've been helpful, especially the loft bedroom. We were blessed with wonderful weather, however this meant hot bedrooms. Having windows open does work until the traffic starts in the morning, making it noisy with them open. The noise itself isn't an issue at all, when windows are closed, incidentally.
