Location and the convenience of the room's amenities.
PARKING!!! Every event, the organization close the normal access to CONTIPARK Tiefgarage MesseCity. It is impossible to find another way in the traffic chaos around of the Messe. In the end, the RTL parking garage was the answer after 35 minutes. Again, this is a MESS!!

It was my boyfriend's birthday and the hotel left a small wine, chocolate and a hand written card in the room for us. Beautiful, so kind and that bit extra effort, especially with the card being hand written.

The apartment had everything what you need for a longer stay. Only 15 minutes walk to the Cologne Cathedral, and two minutes walk to that nice Italian restaurant around the corner.
There is parking available, but you have to count an extra 32 Euro per day/night. The 5G towers were beaming at us from all sides ;-) . The view was a bit depressing.

The Hotel is well-presented with a clean & tidy minimalist style. We booked 2 Apartments (1 Studio Premier & 1 One-Bed Premier) for 3 nights & had asked if they could be close together. When we got to our rooms we were in adjoining Apartments which we were pleased about.
The Studio Premier was open plan as far as the lounge area, the kitchen & the bed area. The bathroom was walk-in & large & extremely well designed. Our One-Bed Premier had a separate lounge area with a kitchenette, en-suite walk-in bathroom & a large bed. Because of the location of the Hotel there are no views: the hotel is targeted more towards business attendees at the many venue buildings surrounding it, so if you want views don't opt for Adina. We were in Cologne on a short break so this didn't bother us. The rooms were air-conditioned fortunately, as Germany was recording its highest ever temperatures. The supplied toiletries were of reasonable quality. The kitchenette had a tiny dishwasher, a small sink, a small hob with extractor above, microwave, fridge etc., all compact & cleverly thought through. Crockery & cutlery was all of a good standard.
We'd got here by ICE train so the short train trips over to the main tourist areas of Cologne - with a fine view of the Rhine & the stunning Cathedral - were picturesque & trouble-free for us. We did find ourselves a little disorientated at first as there were no events on, so not only was the hotel & the district extremely quiet but the whole area looked the same: pretty anonymous!
1. There was some confusion over our Booking.com reservation with the hotel believing there’d be 5 guests (I had tried to change this prior to our stay), so our One-Bed Premier had a made-up folding-bed in the lounge area. We didn’t bother asking them to remove it, but it did mean the lounge area couldn't be used as we'd have liked.
2. Skateboarders skateboarding throughout the night outside: the DG didn't dampen the noise even though we were on the 6th Floor!
3. The toilet seat in one bathroom was hanging on by one bolt & we had to ask twice before it was fixed: no big problem as we had the two rooms, but we were glad when it was done.
4. We didn't eat in the hotel restaurant as its (irregular) opening hours didn't tally with our routine: so we enjoyed good meals at the nearly ASH Köln & L´Osteria, both a few minutes’ walk.
5. When we were checking-out I was treated very discourteously by Mr. Iho Im. I had a query on our bill but had mislaid our receipts (we paid in full on arrival - €1,200) so first I asked him for replacements. He did this but seemed quite irritated by my request. When I began working through the paperwork (4x A4 sheets) to show him where I thought there’d been a mistake, he seemed to go up a gear & became extremely peeved & literally shooed me away from the Reception so that he could serve the people queuing behind me! He clearly wasn’t interested in my query! His dismissal annoyed me enormously: it was rude, unnecessary & condescending. His manner left me quite disconcerted; his dismissiveness was hugely unprofessional. We were on a tight train deadline so I opted to leave with the intention of sorting my queries once we got home & I was less stressed. As a finale, as we left there was no 'thank you', 'have a good trip' - we were that disregarded by him!
