Situated in Kawartha Lakes, this lovely cottage for $347 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. Family owned beautiful four season cottage in a quiet bay situated on almost 1 acre lot with 275 ft of waterfront with huge deck area and sandy beach. Newly renovated and just got on the market. There are 4 bedrooms (3 queen beds and 1 king bed), 2 sleeping spaces futon in the living room, 2 bathrooms (1st floor shower and 2nd floor bathtub), living room has gas fireplace, laundry is available (washer/dryer). The kitchen equipped with stainless steel appliances: fridge, stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker (regular and capsule compatible), toaster, airfryer. It includes full set of dishes, glasses, cutlery, pots/pans and general kitchenware. Patio has propane BBQ (tank is provided). High speed internet is included with wifi service. Grounds include deck, sandy beach, paddle boat, portable volleyball and badminton nets, firepit. Located between Fenelon Falls and Bobcaygeon, 10 min drive to each town, with groceries, LCBO, famous Kawartha Dairy and famous Bigley Shoes (Bobcaygeon) Not one but FOUR golf courses around, 7, 12, 14 and 21 min drive. Sturgeon Lake is a fishing paradise, includes giant perch, small/large mouth bass, walleye and of course MUSKIE. You can enjoy fishing giant perch and bass right of the shore of our property. This was our first time at Sun Bay Cottage and we could not have been happier. The place is wonderful, easy to get to and fully stocked with anything you could need. The location was so handy for quick runs into town or just for an outing, there are so many attractions around. The cottage is beautiful, the kids loved the swimming and building sand castles, the grass lawn was like walking on carpet.
The hosts are amazing, they met us at check in and were available if we needed anything. They are truly ‘premier host’ and have thought of everything you might need.
Can’t wait to go back.

Our stay at the cottage was fantastic! With a group of 8, including both adults and children, we enjoyed every moment. The property offered great water activities and a spacious yard perfect for kids. Nights by the fire pit were a highlight, and the comfortable, well-equipped home had everything we needed. The cottage was great, although at the time we were there, the algae kind of wrecked the swimming,T.V. area was not comfortable for our whole group of 8 to watch a movie at the same time., but fit 4 comfortably. The one bed in the room with just a dresser was very uncomfortable,and very hot with the door closed. Could use a fan.. We loved the gazebo on the deck, and the closeness to a really great golf course. The hosts were great, and made themselves available for any needs.All in all our time was very enjoyable.

We had a wonderful time at this amazing cottage. Lara provided an effective and concise orientation and was very attentive to any questions we had during our stay. We loved the nice grassy area for playing games, the outdoor gazebo with screens and a big table, and lots of other outdoor seating.

We had such a wonderful time. The view is breathtaking. The place was very clean. Nice and open, lots of space. Fun games and water sports for the kids.

The house was large enough to accommodate the 8 adults and 2 babies in our family. The showpiece was the backyard that was huge and fastastic playing cornhole, bocce, soccer and throwing the baseball around. There are two docks where you can fish from or just relax on and a small sandy beach that was great for the babies. A negative was that there was algae in the lake which was not good for swimming. The mattress in the master bedroom was very good but they were not great in the other 3 bedrooms. Overall it was a good experience.

Fantastic location, house and property were as advertised, and the hosts communicated well and ensured everything was in place for us to have the best weekend again. I would definitely stay here again.

You can tell Lara and David really care about their property and guests. Upon check-in, they gave us a tour which was very helpful in maintaining the property at a considerable standard. Lara and David were so warm and welcoming and their cottage is well-kept and clean. Our infant and toddler felt right at home (which isn't easy to do in an unfamiliar environment). We will absolutely stay here again. Definitely recommend!

We stayed at Sun Bay cottage last summer and returned this year with our family from the UK. Once again, it did not disappoint. Lara and David have put so much work into improving their beach and lake front for swimming this year, with the child and teen in our party easily able to jump off the dock and swim freely. They had hours of fun. The cottage is fully equipped with everything you need for a family break.
David and Lara truly meet their super host title. They think of everything and were there to greet us again. Their warm welcome feels like meeting old friends. We cannot wait for our next visit, thank you both!

Very clean and amazing property. Lots of space to play and replax. The fishing is really good right off the dock. Lots of sports equipment to play games with. The kayaks and paddle boat make it really easy and fun to explore the lake. The location is perfect, quite and secluded but also only 10 min away from 2 towns.

Thank you so much to Lara and her family for a lovely stay at their cottage! We had the perfect amount of space for our whole family, and the cottage was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We loved the back lawn and soft grass for relaxing, lawn games, and the fire pit. We also got pretty good at navigating on the paddle boat! The cottage was lovely for a family trip. It was also so nice of Lara to get us some treats when we arrived, and I loved how well-organized everything was! There were plenty of plates/utensils/chairs for everyone, and there was lots of room for all of our own belongings as well. Lara clearly put a lot of thought and care into this cottage!
One thing to note is that the cottage is on a larger lake and there is visibility to some of the neighbors across the bay, so it's not totally secluded/forested. Larisa did warn us about the seaweed in the bay as well, but they did their best to clear the seaweed at their little beach and we still enjoyed floating in the water on the pool noodles.
Overall, we had a great trip. Thank you so much for having us!

Our family of ten were very comfortable in the Sun Bay cottage. The house was spotless and well-stocked. The grounds were extensive and the water craft (four kayaks, one pedal boat) accessible and well-used by us. The lakefront was gorgeous.
Only small minus, the swimming area was reedy and weedy. But this was minor compared to the overall joy of the place. Thank you Lara and David.

The owners met us at checkin to give us a personalized tour of the property. They were friendly and quick to contact if we had any questions or concerns.
The house is nicely appointed and upgraded. The kitchen is well organized and labelled. There is a playroom with air hockey, fooseball, board games and more for the kids. And the views were spectacular.
The outdoor space has everything you need: bbq, fire pit, multiple docks, kayaks, small beach, nice fishing.
The cottage is exactly between Bobcaygeon and Fenelon Falls so you have quick access to grocery, restaurants, tourist attractions, and especially the Kawartha Ice Cream Factory.
If we were to give the property any negatives, it would be the amount of seaweed close to the beach. This is a result of the house being in a bay, and the extra hot summer. The owners tried their best to clear the area around the beach of seaweed so we could enjoy swimming.
In summary: nice house, attentive owners, excellent location. Highly recommended.

first time in the Kawartha's didn't disappoint
What an amazing place! Such a warm welcome from Lara and David who could not have been better hosts, Sunbay cottage truly did not disappoint. Originally booked for a family vacation delayed again due to COVID, my husband and I decided to still take the trip. The cottage is so very well equipped, with everything you can think of (from bedlinens, kitchen needs, filtered drinking water, water sports, badminton/volleyball and even a little games room should it ever be raining!) and as well, it's super clean. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces are amazing for small or large groups. The waterfront, little beach and docks are perfect for a day of fun and fishing. Kayaking around the bay is safe and easy. We ended each day with a barbecue on the large deck and a fire to watch the sunset and colours over the bay. The stars in the night sky are unbelievable to see, making for a perfect time. The cottage is located an easy drive to Fenelon Falls or Bobcaygeon for short trips out and is so perfect for a summer getaway, we've already booked for next year!! If you choose this gem you will not be disappointed! Thank you Lara and David for allowing us to share your beautiful home.

Great Stay!
Went for a girls weekend and we really enjoyed the cottage. It is spacious with beautiful views of the lake. It is tucked away in a small inlet away from the busier parts of the lake. The owners were helpful and kind. We would definitely stay here again.

The property is easy to get to from anywhere in southern/eastern Ontario. It's large, had lots of water surrounding it, nice and quiet. They have toys for children and adults (kayaks, pedal boat, games room). We loved the fire pit by the water and had some beautiful nights looking at starts. The cottage itself is well-appointed with lots of room to spread out. Easy to cook in the large kitchen with lots of appliances and cooking utensils. We really enjoyed staying here and exploring the surroundings of Fenelon Falls and Bobcaygeon - would definitely recommend!
