The Castle at Garrison Field, was built as a Cotswolds, England style country manor house, featuring multiple roof lines in oven fired tile, random chimney pots serving eight fireplaces, and finished in distinctive sandstone cladding. The residence and elegant grounds presents a private oceanfront country estate fronting Spring Cove and the Atlantic Ocean. This magnificent 6 bedroom seaside estate might look like it's been ripped from the English countryside, but it was, in fact, built in 1928 out of smooth indigenous sandstone. The gardens continue the English country motif, with low stone walls to portion the 14-acre property and define the formal pool area. The estate features an oceanfront conservatory, pool (open June until mid Sept ), stone pump house (perfect for reading) and a private beach. **The owner lives nextdoor and is available if anyone needs help or has any questions during their stay. This house was perfect for me, my married kids, their spouses, and my grandkids. The house was very clean and spacious. It rained the whole time, but we still had a great time. And Shannon, who manages the property, was very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Hope to return next year.

We consider ourselves very fortunate to have celebrated our daughter's wedding with friends and family at Garrison Field. Everything about this property is amazing. I could point everything out that was exceptional, but it would take too long!
Both Jeff and Shannon were wonderful to deal with. The lobster bake was outstanding. We eat a lot of lobster in the summer, and this was the best that we ever had. Shannon was very attentive to our guests and made everyone feel welcome and provided impeccable service.
I highly recommend this property for family gatherings. My son has an infant and a toddler and he and his wife were able to have a room that was secluded from the others. They couldn't hear us and we couldn't hear them!
Our guests were awe struck by the beauty of the home, grounds and ocean. Thank you Jeff and Shannon for making our celebration AMAZING!

This majestic home is simply amazing! From the second you walk in the front door you are mesmerized by the architectural details, views and condition of this almost 100-year-old castle. The pictures don't do it justice, it is so much prettier in person. It's like stepping back in time. The house is meticulously restored, and the original woodwork, marble & wood floors and leaded windows are all in perfect condition. Every bedroom is nicer than the next and the linens, pillows and amenities are all top of the line. Both the manager Shannon and the owner Jeff are wonderful hosts and take great pride in making sure their guests have everything they need for the perfect stay.
Our group consisted of 12 adults and 3 young children, all immediate family. We came up to Cape Elizabeth for a family reunion at my nephew's house which was only 3 miles from the Castle. We could not have found a better place to stay! The kitchen and dining room made for the perfect family gathering spot and we so enjoyed our evening cocktail hours on the rear yard overlooking the expansive lawn and beautiful ocean view. The grounds are pretty amazing and there are 2 outbuildings on the property that make the perfect spot to read a book or just relax. Walking the beach and watching the moon rise over the ocean was a real treat also. I have stayed at a lot of nice places over the years, but none come close to this. I highly recommend it and would give it 6 Stars if I could!

We hosted a surprise birthday week for my wife and her friends in Mid-July. I cannot imagine a better property for our group. Everything was spectacular and the property itself is beyond words. The pool area was a particular highlight for our group.
The only thing to consider here- the 1st floor, including the two bedrooms on this floor, are not air conditioned. There are a lot of fans throughout the property and air flow is plentiful, but we were in an unusual heat wave for Maine and there were a couple of uncomfortable nights in those 1st floor bedrooms.
Overall- Really can't say enough great things about our experience at Garrison Fields.

A/c only in the bedrooms upstains (some rooms chill better than others; some wouldn't go below 71); no a/c in bedrooms downstairs, so it was quite warm at night there. While the house is on the ocean and often has a nice breeze, the house can get a bit warm during the day and stone facade retains the heat. Many of the windows do not open, but for those that do, some have screens and some don't - so a bit buggy when we needed the cross ventilation. Owner lives on property in a detached garage. Property manager was very lovely and accommodating. Owner too was very nice and gave some good suggestions for local farm provisions (e.g., lobster and local veggies!) Pool was amazing. We sat out in the patio by the pool most of the time - but note that the kitchen is at the opposite end of the house - so long way to carry food and drinks. We cooked a lot, so kitchen was important to us, but we there were no exhaust fans there and layout of butler pantry and main kitchen was wonky and tight if you had more than 3 or4 people in the kitchen. Also, missing some basic cleaning supplies for daily wipe down (no windex or counter cleaners/kitchen cleaning cloths, etc.) Water pressure was amazing.

Maine vacation
The 'Castle' is an amazing house, like an old English Manor house, very large and beautiful inside and out. We had our family of 11 with ages 12 to 82. The 5 grandkids had a great time in the pool and looking for shells & sea glass at the beach. Jeff and Shannon are very gracious hosts and did everything to make our stay enjoyable. Cape Elizabeth is a very neat town and also close to Portland.

Wonderful place to celebrate.
This is an amazing property! We gathered our family to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and truly felt like royalty. The home is very spacious with many places to relax. The kids particularly enjoyed the pool and private beach area (great for looking for shells and sea glass). The adults appreciated the well-equipped kitchen and butler's pantry as well as the many artworks all over the house. We all enjoyed the ocean views, dining on the terrace and movie nights with the large screen in the Great Room. The house is well located to explore area lighthouses, lobster shacks and the Casco Bay area, with easy access to the Portland airport. The host was attentive and easily reached by text. Staying here made for a truly memorable vacation.

The house is simply magical and what a treat it was to sit by a roaring fire in the great room and play games and laugh together while enjoying the view of the ocean. Outstanding property. Unbelievable view and resources. One of the best vacations that we have ever had with our adult children. Close to many of Maine's most beautiful areas. I would strongly recommend the property and we hope to stay there again in the future.

I really can't say enough wonderful things about this place. We would love to host another retreat here in the future - maybe in summertime to take advantage of the beautiful heated pool :)

We had a great time at this property. The house and land were beautiful. We loved the pool and used it daily, they were kind enough to heat it warm enough for the little kids. Note that the owner does stay in the carriage house while you're there, however, we never saw him or interacted with him after his initial tour so this wasn't a problem. Thanks for a lovely stay!!
