The main house has character and an old fashion charm that will immediately make you fall in love with it. Felt like staying over at a close family friends place. Everything is well stocked including the kitchen. We loved how close the house was to restaurants and shops. We also loved the fire place. There was plenty of wood stored ready for several all nighters! Everything was very clean.
We were a little surprised to see the gardens a little out of shape when we walked through the front gate. The front door is a little off its hinges perhaps as it didn't open and close properly without a little lifting effort. While we didn't mind, we weren't offered the use of parking inside the gates. The hot water system didn't get very hot in the main bathroom.

The location was excellent with cafes, shops and the lake just a short walk away. The interior design and decoration was well thought out and beautiful. Bathrooms were large.
BBQ facility is mentioned but could not be used. The pressure to stay confined in our own areas was restrictive even though we had booked 2 cottages! Communication with host was difficult and unhelpful.

We loved every minute of our stay at Main house Poets lodge. It was so well equiped like being home with everything we needed and more. So much attention to detail with flowers in every room. Very clean and comfortable. Angeline and Richard are wonderful hosts.

The house was exactly what I expected and wanted from a long weekend getaway to the country. Charming, loads of character, lovely gardens, good facilities and the fireplace was perfect for those chill Daylesford evenings. The convenient location, just around the corner from the Main Street meant that restaurants, cafes and shops were just a few minutes walk away. Angeline was a lovely, thoughtful and attentive host. Can’t wait to stay at Poets Lodge again!
