While it was only my wife and I staying, the house is comfortable for four people. There is plenty of closet space and each bedroom has its own bathroom with a half bath on the first floor. The kitchen has good counter space and the large table will seat four. The living room is spacious and comfortable. Most days we spent the morning on the screen porch having coffee before walking the neighborhood along the marsh to a gated community. Walking the other way you follow the marsh to the marina where dolphins and egrets are daily visitors. The marsh and sunset views from the master bedroom deck are beautiful and the screened deck on the main floor is very comfortable and has seating for four people though the view is through screen and posts. Getting into town, West Ashley, James Island or down to Kiawah is very easy. While hidden from view by trees and houses, the tradeoff to having easy and quick access to Maybank Highway is its audible presence when you are on the decks. The highway is one of only two access points for Johns Island and we learned to leave early for any appointment or reservation if it was in the morning or evening commuter hours. Excellent Johns Island restaurants (get reservations…) are very close by and you can check out the rotating food trucks at the brewery on Maybank Highway. If you really want to be tempted by all the great restaurants in the Charleston area join the Chucktown Eats facebook group. The glassware and cookware is completely adequate but could also be described as spartan. If there are more than two people you will probably be doing dishes more often than anticipated in order to get clean cookware, glasses, and cups. The smart TVs in the living room and main bedroom are preloaded with many streaming apps with Netflix, basic Hulu, and NBC activated. If you want access to other everyday television channels you will need to use your own streaming service subscription. My wife and I are retired and that allows us to spend 30 days in a rental. That amount of time also allows us to gain a measure of what it would be like to live in a particular place, good and bad. We really enjoyed our stay in the Stono Watch house. We were very impressed with the Vacasa staff who helped us out with a few minor glitches and took excellent care of us. We’ll be looking for future rentals under their management. Enjoy your stay in this house.

Perfect stay!
Perfect stay!
We had a wonderful month at this home. It is very spacious and has everything you need. Conveniently located between Charleston downtown and Folly Beach, it only took about 20 minutes to get to either. The neighborhood is safe and all of the neighbors are very nice. Couldn’t have been better!

Nice townhome close to downtown Charleston
Nice townhome close to downtown Charleston
Nicely appointed home, with views of the marsh for monthlong getaway. However, unless you plan to eat out every night, be prepared to bring or shop for all necessities. View gorgeous sunsets from small, screened in patio. But, be aware that traffic noise from nearby bridge highway traffic is quite annoying and definitely alters the experience.
Vacasa staff responded very promptly to several mechanical issues we encountered.
