Home away from home

Wonderful location in main square, close to ferry port. Great base to explore Hallstatt. The top floor room was spacious and had a pretty balcony overlooking the square. Very comfortable and clean room. Spacious shower room. Perfect overnight stay. Good selection at breakfast. Friendly and helpful owners.

Nothing. Would have been nice to have slippers, though happy to bring own if we'd known there wouldn't be any. .

outstanding location, specious rooms with a hospitable owner

This hotel, as the name suggests is in the middle of the market platz and a 2 min walk from the ferry. The owner Tom is an excellent and caring host, taking care of having us picked up and dropped from parking to helping with luggage and a nice conversation. the rooms were newly constructed and large and airy and the balcony overlooking the square was a big plus for us. we were in for a surprise with the elaborate breakfast that Tom made for us. considering that there are only 4 rooms in the hotel, we really appreciated the nice tea, coffee and hot eggs served along with fresh fruits, breads, sweets, cheese, homemade jam, cheese etc it’s a rare combination of an excellent host, great location and spacious rooms and I can say that this is one of the best options at Hallstatt.

Perfect night!

“In the Middle” of everything!! Super comfortable bed and shower was terrific. Absolutely cozy bar/breakfast area. Thomas was so welcoming as was Ava who helped out in the morning!!

Very clean room, excellent breakfast, very central location overlooking the fountain at the main square.

No tissue box in the room, and minor cobwebs in remote corners of the room.

Overall a great stay and beautiful town !

Great location to explore the town of Hallstatt. Had a small restaurant / bar downstairs that we enjoyed very much. Good breakfast and friendly staff !

The town is busy but fun, you can't drive into town but there is a shuttle service that offers free trips to the hotel so not really an issue but just something to be aware.

Excellent hotel to stay. I wish I could stay longer.

Our room is spacious and well-designed. The host is very kind to help us move the luggage’s to our room. The breakfast is amazing. We like the homemade chocolate cake and yogurt. It’s a lovely and warm hotel.

Its location is excellent ( in the middle of the Marktplatz). Some tourists talked too loud in the late night or in the morning. But it is worth to stand it.

Magical experience to stay the night in this storybook town.

Halstatt was by far the busiest most touristy location that we visited in Austria. It was pure magic being able to spend the night there and enjoy the quaint town after the crowds cleared out. We were enjoying drinks at the bar and locals started showing up to hang out, before we knew it there was a massive brass band that showed up in the square. We had such a fun night. The breakfast in the morning is phenomenal.

Wonderful Gem

The host was wonderful. The whole experience was incredible. Hallstatt is a tiny chocolate box town and this home in bang in the centre. The property was beautiful and the breakfast was great. A special visit.

Top location just a few minutes from the ferry dock, with nice and cozy rooms. Nice bar on the lower floor that's great for a nightcap (and one of the few places in town still open after 6pm) and the breakfast was also very good.

what did we like about this hotel?- EVERYTHING!! what a gem! Friendly staff, beautiful hotel. Recently remodeled and beautifully decorated. The attention to detail is just unbelievable. The owner is a local and cares very much about his business, it's evident in the details, such as rooms, breakfast, comfortable bed and pillows,conversations.abour the area.We felt very welcomed and relaxed there. One of the best hotels we've ever stayed at. We are not surprised that they are sold out often .If we are ever back to Hallstatt, this is where we are staying. Thank you for the wonderful time !!!

This place is perfect!

The location is simple to reach from the train/ferry and is in the beautiful main square. During the day/evening the property doubles as a bar (we couldn’t hear it from the rooms), and it has the perfect vibe for some casual beers. The rooms were incredibly cosy and comfortable, we fell asleep to the sound of a running stream and then were so comfy we cancelled our morning plans to have a sleep in. Breakfast was delicious and we felt very well looked after with freshly made coffee and boiled eggs to our liking - they also played great music! They were happy to hold our bags before and after checkout, which made exploring Hallstatt really easy. Everything about I da Mitt was perfect and we loved our stay here.

A wonderful location, very quaint accommodation, definitely would book again.

Breakfast was really good, location was brilliant.

Air conditioning would be good for the summer months so that we didn't need to keep the windows open during day and evening and have the smoke waft into our bedroom from the people downstairs in the bar smoking.

Superb! Highly recommend and definitely will go back.

Perfect location right in the middle of Hallstatt. Within 30 sec. walk you are by the lake with a stunning view. The place has a very cozy atmosphere. The breakfast is excellent and the staff is always there to attend your requests. Highly recommend room nr. 2 (on the 1st floor with a view to the main square).

Really spent 5 min trying to figure out something to write here, but I could not. The place simply checks all marks - even over expectations.
