When we arrived, the staff was so warm and welcoming. They brought our bags up to our room and proceeded to welcome us with green tea and a sweet treat while informing us of all the things we needed to know about our stay. Absolutely outstanding service and accommodation. Breakfast was exceptional! Delicious Japanese style meals that were so satisfying and we got to try a lot of new things we've never had before! It was a peaceful setting, and the staff were extremely warm and helpful despite the language barrier. They spoke enough English that we were able to understand and enjoy the entire experience. It was truly wonderful! Arigatō gozaimasu Watazen!

I loved the traditional aspects of this property
The room could do with some hooks and shelves to put / hang things on. Competing space for luggage and people and bedding. But we knew this and worked around it. Lovely place. Lovely people. Great location. The welcoming shared tea in our room was personable and made us feel more welcomed.

The ryokan is very conveniently located, right next to the main market in Kyoto full of shops, restaurants and other amenities, but also within walking distance to many sights and the metro. The staff were very kind and the whole experience was enjoyable. The breakfast was also an interesting experience.
The Wi-fi was unusable with the reception in our room almost non-existant.
